UConn’s only loss remains to No. 1 Arizona, a game in which the Huskies played without two starters. But after its six-point home win over Providence to start the week, its No. 13 KenPom ranking seems more accurate than its No. 2 ranking in the AP poll. UConn’s rating is also lower per Bart Torvik (31st since Jan. 4).
The Huskies just endured a three-game stretch where they allowed at least 17 second chance points to Seton Hall, Georgetown, and Villanova. Meanwhile, Creighton’s defense does an outstanding job of playing without fouling, owning the fourth-lowest free throw rate allowed.
