One of the best rivalries in the SEC takes place on Saturday afternoon as the defending champion Gators host the No. 21 Volunteers, which I analyze with my Tennessee vs. Florida prediction. We’re looking to remain unbeaten after going 2-0 on two picks from another high-profile SEC tilt (Alabama vs. Vanderbilt) earlier in the week.
Florida is a 5.5-point betting favorite in this game which tips from Stephen O’Connell Center in Gainesville, Fla. at noon ET. Which team will earn its second straight win and improve to 2-1 in SEC play?

💰 Tennessee vs. Florida best bet: Tennessee +5.5 (-108) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

When comparing Tennessee’s and Florida’s 1-1 league starts, I remain much more optimistic about the Volunteers going forward.
Tennessee’s lone league loss to Arkansas came despite being even in turnovers, grabbing one fewer offensive rebound, and allowing just seven assists on 25 made baskets. The big reason for that 11-point loss was a huge free throw disparity, as the Volunteers shot 52.2% from the line, while Arkansas made 29-of-33 attempts.
I am selling high on Florida after its 15-point win over a ranked Georgia squad, as the Gators are 7-1 against Mike White’s teams, while scoring 82-plus seven times.
Score prediction: Florida 78, Tennessee 76
🔥 Best Tennessee vs. Florida player prop: Nate Ament, Tennessee Under 5.5 rebounds (-106) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Nate Ament has five or fewer rebounds in four of the last six games.
Optimists will say he had five rebounds in the last game, despite playing just 22 minutes. But that lack of playing time was due to foul trouble (four fouls), which is highly likely to occur again when facing Florida’s talented frontcourt.
Florida is built to deter Tennessee’s biggest strength, as the Gators rank fifth in defensive rebounding rate. That lowers the ceiling for offensive rebounds for Ament, who is a part of a frontcourt that leads all D-I teams in rebounding 45.2% of its misses.
