Basketball is one of the most popular sports in the world, and this year's NCAA Tournament is proof of how much the game has grown globally over the last few decades.

This year's March Madness rosters include players from 58 different countries and 44 different states, with two of the most international rosters belonging to a pair of the biggest March Madness odds favorites.

🦫 A growing game north of the border

Basketball continues to thrive in Canada, and not just at the professional level, thanks to reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Over 150 Canadians hit the hardwood at the Division I level this season in college basketball, and several key players are playing in March Madness.

The state of Florida is especially loaded with Canadians, from Florida starting point guard Xaivian Lee to a South Florida roster that has more Canadians (4) than Floridians (1).

Meanwhile, LIU, coached by former NBA guard Rod Strickland, has the most Canadian players on its roster. The Sharks' top two scorers, Jamal Fuller and Malachi Davis, are two of LIU's five players from the Great White North.

Florida's Alex Condon, Purdue's Oscar Cluff, Wisconsin's Austin Rapp, Saint Mary's Harry Wessels, Hawaii's Harry Rouhliadeff, and Furman's Charles Johnston are all key players for their teams and stand between 6-foot-9 and 7-foot-2.

The Aussies aren't short on guard talent, either. Saint Mary's always has an Australian or three, and the Gaels' Joshua Dent is one of the best passers in the NCAA Tournament this year.
