We're analyzing our best March Madness player props picks for Saturday based on the best March Madness odds ahead of Round 2 of the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

After a cadre of standout performances in the first round of March Madness, we have our eyes on which players can repeat the magic in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, which began on Saturday with Dayton vs. Arizona.

Thursday's opening-round action was highlighted by Jack Gohlke's exceptional shooting, as he made 10 three-pointers to propel the Oakland Golden Grizzlies to victory over the Kentucky Wildcats. We like his chances of having a similar showing on Saturday.

In other matchups, Dae Dae Grant contributed 19 points to the Duquesne Dukes' upset triumph over the BYU Cougars, while Jermaine Couisnard posted an impressive 40-point performance, leading the Oregon Ducks past the South Carolina Gamecocks. Can they keep that up in Round 2?

With eight games slated for Saturday, which players are poised to deliver standout performances?

To accompany our March Madness prop bets, here are our best March Madness player props for Saturday (odds via our best March Madness betting sites; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Jack Gohlke Over 13.5 points vs. NC State ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: +100 via FanDuel
Game info: Oakland vs. NC State, Saturday at 7:10 p.m. ET

Jack Gohlke’s performance against Kentucky has put him on every bettor's radar entering his Round 2 matchup with the NC State Wolfpack.

With that in mind, it’s shocking to see this number so low. Initially, it seems like the right play is to fade the public and take the Under. However, a few elements are working in Gohkle’s favor.

First, the Wolfpack don’t defend the 3-point line well. They rank 216th in the nation in opponent's 3-point percentage. The team just held the Texas Tech Red Raiders to 22.6% from deep, but the Red Raiders were given open looks they just couldn’t knock down. Secondly, Gohlke is playing on the same court he just played on Thursday. He’s clearly comfortable shooting there.

Gohlke doesn’t shoot 2-pointers, so he’s not going to come close to this number if the guard goes cold from deep. But he’s made at least five threes in three consecutive games.

It’s impossible to pass up on this number at +100 this low number.

Nolan Hickman Over 2.5 3-pointers made vs. Kansas ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: +130 via DraftKings
Game info: Gonzaga vs. Kansas, Saturday at 3:15 p.m. ET

The Kansas Jayhawks were incredibly lucky to get past the Samford Bulldogs, and their lack of depth started to show in the second half. The Jayhawks played just six players for more than three minutes in the game, and that same rotation is going to kill them against Gonzaga’s high-powered offense.

Nolan Hickman averages 2.2 3-pointers per game, and he’s shooting 41% from deep in 2023-24. The Jayhawks just allowed Samford to knockdown 16 threes. Now they’re not going to be able to keep up with the Bulldogs’ offense on tied legs, and Hickman will get plenty of wide-open looks, especially in transition.

There's value in taking quite a few Gonzaga Overs in this game. But the price for Hickman’s Over is the most appealing.

Dae Dae Grant Over 16.5 points vs. Illinois ⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -104 via FanDuel
Game info: Duquesne vs. Illinois, Saturday at 8:40 p.m. ET

Oddsmakers seem to believe Dae Dae Grant’s performance in Round 1 was a fluke that won't be repeated against Illinois in Round 2. However, the Fighting Illini give up over 73 points per game, and they just allowed two different Morehead State Eagles to score more than 20 points against them.

Grant and Jimmy Clark III are the only two players on Duquesne who average more than 10 points per game. The Illini seem confident that they can still win even if the other team’s best player produces a solid outing. Grant will therefore put up enough shots, and the Over will still cash even if he shoots 40% again.

The price for this prop varies at our best sportsbooks. FanDuel is alone while favoring the Under. That book is offering -104 for the Under, which is much better than the -120 at DraftKings.
