Houston (17-1, 5-0 Big 12) is a 1-point road betting favorite in the second edition of this conference battle. Texas Tech (15-4, 5-1) lost by four at Houston on Jan. 6, but will things be different in the rematch?

Much of the early action has been on the Red Raiders, who opened as a 2.5-point underdog. The market suggests they have a good shot at winning the rematch and ending the Cougars’ win streak, which I agree with.
In the first meeting, Houston doubled Texas Tech’s free-throw attempts and committed eight fewer turnovers. It was also the only game since Dec. 20 that the Red Raiders failed to hit double-digit 3-pointers.
Basically, a lot went wrong in a four-point loss, especially considering the Red Raiders rank 14th in 3-point shooting and 49th in offensive turnover rate. I expect a different outcome in Saturday’s rematch in Lubbock.

I might be picking Texas Tech to win, but it should come down to the very end. If that’s the case, Houston freshman guard Kingston Flemings will be on the floor for 30 or so minutes.
Flemings has played at least 27 minutes in 12 different games, scoring at least 15 points in 11 of those contests. He poured in 23 points in 35 minutes against the Red Raiders during the first meeting.
This line is too low based on his potential usage, so I’ll place a $10 bet at FanDuel to win $7.81.
