My Georgetown vs. North Carolina prediction today targets the No. 16 Tar Heels (7-1) to succeed against the Hoyas (6-2). Tipoff is at 5 p.m. ET at the Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill, N.C. (ESPN).

North Carolina is an 11.5-point home betting favorite, but I prefer a play on the total instead.

Over 150.5 (-108) ⭐⭐⭐

Coming off a 67-64 road win over Kentucky on Tuesday, North Carolina should have more success on Sunday. Not only do I mean the Tar Heels should win more comfortably, but the matchup also suggests they will have more offensive success.

I like taking the Over on the full-game total in a game UNC should roll in.

Will the Tar Heels live at the line?

There is a good chance that North Carolina can rack up plenty of production at the free-throw line against Georgetown. UNC ranks 63rd in the nation with a free-throw rate of 42.4% despite not eclipsing a rate of 30.9% in its last two games against Michigan State and Kentucky.

A matchup against Georgetown offers a good chance to get back to the charity stripe. The Hoyas allow a free-throw rate of 41.7%, which ranks 291st in the nation. They’ve surrendered 48 free-throw attempts in their two losses this year.

As a result, I’m expecting more stoppages in play, which helps the Over more than anything else. That’s evidenced by Georgetown being 6-2 to the Over this year, which includes a high of 155.5.

The Tar Heels are 2-6 to the Over, but they are averaging 81.3 points per game. This is a good spot for them to pour it on.

Score prediction: North Carolina 84, Georgetown 70

Caleb Wilson vs. recent passing performance

North Carolina freshman Caleb Wilson dished a career-high six assists last time out against Kentucky. He went 5-for-19 from the floor, so it was a good way for him to have an offensive role.

However, that’s not how Wilson typically performs. He’s only averaging 2.6 assists per game, dishing two or fewer dimes four times this year.

I think the market is offering a bit of value on Wilson’s assists prop given his recent performance. I’ll grab this +100 price tag to earn $10 on a $10 wager.

Best prop bet: Caleb Wilson Under 2.5 assists (+100 via BetMGM)
