Our best college basketball player prop bets tonight feature two players from the highly anticipated Dick Vitale Invitational between Texas and Duke in Charlotte, N.C.
I am also backing a player prop for Purdue’s Braden Smith, the top preseason Wooden Award contender.

💰 Best player prop bets for Tuesday
⬇️ Braden Smith player prop: Under 7.5 assists (-115) ⭐⭐⭐
Smith has ranked in the top two in assist rate in Big Ten play the last two seasons, and his 44.2% overall assist rate last year was second nationally.
While this may seem like a blasphemous play early on a certified Wooden Award odds contender, Purdue’s exhibition game against Kentucky showed offensive flaws with the team starting two paint-clogging big men.
Smith finished with five assists in just over 32 minutes in that game, and the team’s lack of shooters who can stretch the defense (they finished 3-of-17 from 3-point range) should continue to clog driving lanes for Smith to operate in.
The -115 price to back the Under at bet365 has 53.49% implied odds and would net $8.70 on a winning $10 wager.
⬆️ Isaiah Evans player prop: Over 14.5 points (-125) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Duke guard Isaiah Evans, at times, was overshadowed by the team’s three top-10 picks and five overall NBA draft picks last year. But he will now have the opportunity to showcase his talents more on a nightly basis, and I expect him to be the beneficiary of defensive attention paid to Player of the Year candidate Cameron Boozer. Our Shane Jackson has a featured Boozer player prop in his Texas vs. Duke prediction.
Evans has -170 odds (carrying a 62.96% implied probability) at bet365 to connect on at least four 3-point attempts. He made 42% of his shots beyond the arc last year, so he has the potential to come close to soaring Over this projected total solely on perimeter shots.
This is a four-star play, as Evans displayed potential in big non-conference games against Auburn (18 points) and Illinois (17). Now without being in the shadows of NBA-caliber players, he should get off to a fast start this season.
Over backers will find tremendous value making this play at FanDuel, as Evans’ O/U for points is at 15.5 at bet365. That makes paying up for the -125 price at 55.56% implied odds well worth it, as a winning $10 wager would still return $8 in profits.

⬇️ Dailyn Swain player prop: Under 2.5 assists (+130) ⭐⭐⭐
Xavier’s offense ranked seventh in the country under Sean Miller in assists per field goal made, as the Musketeers assisted on 62.8% of their made baskets.
Miller brought Dailyn Swain from last year’s team with him to Texas, which should give the 6-foot-8 forward a leg up to start the year running the Longhorns' offense. But Swain averaged just 2.6 assists per game last year and had two or fewer assists in five of the first seven games.
Thus, bet365 is offering very generous +130 odds at a 43.48% implied probability, especially since the Duke defense has a great chance of being a top-five unit by the end of the season.
If Swain finishes with two or fewer assists, my $10 winning wager would return $13 in profits.
⬇️ Nate Bittle player prop: Under 1.5 3-pointers made (+115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Oregon center Nate Bittle has seen his points per game nearly double from 7.3 three seasons ago to 14.2 last year. He is set to take on an ever bigger role in the offense this year but will need to improve upon his career-best 33.9% 3-point percentage in a single season.
Bittle started last season 3-for-21 from 3-point range over the first nine games, and he made one or fewer 3-pointers in eight of the nine to end last season.
That makes these plus-money odds worth a flier for him to end with one or fewer 3-pointers made. Through bet365’s +115 odds, which carry a 46.51% implied probability, I am laying down a $10 wager in the hopes of netting $11.50 in profits.
