My college basketball best bets today are geared up and ready to build off the torrid 11-1 stretch of picks we endured entering the extended holiday break.
My expert picks fade a struggling ACC team and expect continued solid production from a solid A-10 home squad. Meanwhile, my college basketball player props take advantage of two situational matchups.

Le Moyne vs. Boston College prediction: Le Moyne +13.5 (-110 via Caesars) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Boston College already owns a disappointing loss to Central Connecticut out of the NEC. That should give fellow conference member Le Moyne confidence entering what should be a half-asleep Chestnut Hill environment.
Le Moyne ended with the fourth-worst adjusted defensive efficiency last year in its second year at the D-I level and is only slightly better in that department this year, with the 13th-worst. But it has also shown flashes in higher-profile games, like when it combined with Marist to limit Xavier to 0.79 points per possession in the half-court amid a two-game stretch.
Penn vs. George Mason prediction: George Mason -15.5 (-110 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐
George Mason returns home against an Ivy League team that has lost three of four and one that's still adjusting to head coach Fran McCaffery’s new system.
George Mason flopped in its only true road game, losing to Virginia Tech by 11 in a game it was a two-point ‘dog. But the Hokies were a bad matchup for the Patriots with their off-ball cutting that had produced an average of 1.26 points per possession against top-100 competition. UPenn’s more stagnant 3-pointer-reliant offense shouldn’t pose such issues.

Tyrone Riley IV Over 12.5 points (-110 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Seattle’s frontcourt is massive for a mid-major and ranks in the 92nd percentile grading post-ups. That has me backing a higher-scoring game from a Dons guard - not the one who will spend a ton of energy chasing Seattle’s Brayden Maldonado, who has scored 1.4 points per possession in ball-screen offense.
Tyrone Riley IV has surpassed this projected total in three of the last four games. This is a confident four-star college basketball player prop today, as he ranks 121st in effective field-goal percentage and has made 47.5% of his 3-point attempts.
Jan Vide Under 4.5 assists (-135 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Loyola Marymount point guard Jan Vide has used his rare 6-foot-6 positional height to rank fifth in the country in assist rate (44.1%). He has at least four assists in every game played since the season opener and exceeded this projected total three times in his last four.
The reason for confidently backing the Under on his assists is that he will be blanketed by an elite defender in Saint Mary’s Dillan Shaw. Shaw has allowed just 0.43 points per possession as a primary ball-screen defender, per Synergy.
If Shaw frustrates Vide enough to keep him Under this projected total, my $10 winning wager through bet365’s -135 price (57.45% implied odds) would net $7.41 in profit.
