After five AP top-5 teams have lost since last Friday (four of which came on the road against AP top-25 teams), I felt compelled to identify other upset spots with my college basketball predictions and best bets today.
Adding to my two ATS plays are a pair of college basketball player props from Big East players, one of whom had a career day earlier in the season against the opponent he is facing today.

Cal Baptist vs. Utah Tech prediction: Utah Tech +3.5 (-110 via BetMGM) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Utah Tech is amid a season-high five-game winning streak, and its 15 wins are the most it has had since joining Division I in 2021.
In a bit of an odd scheduling quirk, the Trailblazers play Cal Baptist for the third time this season, after losing the first two by a combined 21 points. But Utah Tech has been great in revenge spots this season. The Trailblazers avenged a 16-point loss to Utah Valley with a four-point win, and a four-point loss to UT Arlington with a three-point win, both at home during this winning streak.
Gonzaga vs. Santa Clara prediction: Santa Clara +4.5 (-110 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐
This is the biggest home game since the Steve Nash days for Santa Clara, as the Broncos would hold a 1.5-game lead over Gonzaga for the WCC regular season title with three to play with a win.
Santa Clara covered as 17.5-point underdogs in an 89-77 road loss to Gonzaga on Jan. 8. The game was close (it was even tied at 37 at the half) despite the Broncos getting out-shot 37.5% to 26.9% from 3-point range, and ending the game with four fewer rebounds and more turnovers (15) than assists (12).
⛹️ College basketball player props today
Zuby Ejiofor Over 24.5 points + rebounds (-115 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
St. John’s center Zuby Ejiofor had a massive game in the first meeting against Providence. Ejiofor was one of the lone bright spots for the Red Storm, tying a career-high with 33 points and securing 15 rebounds, 11 of which were on the offensive end.
Providence has been burned by the 3-point line all season, allowing opponents to shoot 37.2% from beyond the arc (337th-worst). As long as the Friars need to give defensive attention to the perimeter, that means they cannot solely focus on arguably the most intimidating interior presence in the Big East in Ejiofor.
Solo Ball Over 2.5 3-pointers made (+114 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐
UConn has finished as a top-three offense in adjusted offensive efficiency twice in the last three years under head coach Dan Hurley. If it keeps up its hot shooting, it will finish that high again.
UConn has made at least nine 3-pointers as a team in five straight games, after doing so just five times all season prior to this stretch. In the last five games, the Huskies are averaging 11.8 threes made while shooting at a 44.7% clip.
Solo Ball is my best bet after coming off a season-high six made three pointers in his last game.
