Following a cryptic social media post on Monday, speculation is flying whether LeBron James will announce his retirement from the NBA on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at noon ET. Well, prediction trading market Kalshi has a market posted with roughly a 50% chance being given to King James calling it a career ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season.

LeBron announced "#TheSecondDecision" on Monday, with a teaser video seemingly of an interview to be published on Tuesday at noon ET.

Less than two hours after being posted, the video had 7.6 million views on X.

Kalshi, a prediction market that's legal and regulated through much of the United States, has a market for LeBron James to announce his retirement before the 2026-27 season. "Yes" is trading at a 41% chance, but the market is moving quickly and peaked at a high of 70% shortly after James' post.
