Warriors vs. Suns Picks, Predictions: Both Teams Looking for 3rd Win

Check out our top NBA betting picks as the Golden State Warriors visit the Phoenix Suns in Tuesday's marquee Western Conference matchup.

The Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns are both 2-1 straight up this season, but they each covered the spread only once. Which team has the advantage when they meet on Tuesday night? Check out our top Warriors-Suns picks.

The Warriors are fresh off a win over the Sacramento Kings on Sunday. While they failed to cover the 10-point spread in that game, they did score enough to push the total to the Over for the third straight game to start the season. They are one of five teams where the Over has hit in every game they have played this season.

Meanwhile, the Suns are coming off a wire-to-wire win over the Los Angeles Clippers. They jumped out to an 11-0 lead, and they led by nearly double-figures all game. The Suns haven't hit the Over once through three games, despite playing high-powered offenses such as the Dallas Mavericks and Portland Trail Blazers.

Here are our Warriors vs. Suns NBA picks for Tuesday (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook, and PointsBet; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Warriors vs. Suns Odds

Warriors vs. Suns Odds Analysis

The Suns opened as 3.5-point favorites, and that line quickly dropped to 2.5. According to Pregame.com, an overwhelming majority of bettors are backing the Warriors with 71% of the tickets accounting for 67% of the handle.

With the Warriors being a higher-scoring team than the Suns, you might think that the total has gone up since Golden State is the popular side. However, the Over/Under has actually gone down, dropping from a consensus opening line of 226 to 225.5 This is reverse line movement as the bulk of the tickets and handle are on the Over.

Warriors vs. Suns Picks

Warriors vs. Suns ATS Pick

Suns -2 (-112) ★★

The Warriors face their first road test of the season, and it will not be an easy one. This game also marks the first time this season that the Warriors are underdogs. The Suns get the nod as favorites, as they are at home and absolutely dominated the Clippers on Sunday.

The Warriors are 3-0 against the spread in their last three head-to-head matchups with the Suns. However, when these teams met in March of 2022, the Suns were 5-point favorites and won by four.

The Warriors have been shooting lights out so far this season, but they have yet to face a defense like the Suns. The Suns have the ability to frustrate Golden State’s shooters, which should help them earn the win. It’s hard to ever bet against the Warriors, but this game will be close from start to finish, and the advantage has to go to the home team that can get a big stop when needed to secure the game late.

Warriors vs. Suns O/U Pick

Under 225.5 (-107) ★★★★

Their last time out, the Warriors put up 89 points in the first half against the Kings. It was an absurd shooting performance with Golden State going 31-for-46 from the floor in the first 24 minutes. It was helped by the fact that the Warriors are averaging over 100 possessions per game.

However, the Suns have been slowing down high-powered offenses all season, and there isn’t much of a reason to think that should stop Tuesday. They’re going to prevent the Warriors from imposing their will, which will keep this lower scoring. The Warriors have yet to score fewer than 120 points this season, but the Suns allowed more than 110 points only once this season and that game went to overtime.

The Under is also 8-2 in the last 10 meetings between these teams.

Warriors vs. Suns Prop Pick

Curry Under 5.5 assists (-110) ★★★

Warriors guard Stephen Curry dished out more than four assists just once through three games. That performance was in the Warriors' season-opening win over the Lakers. Since then, he has just six total assists in two games. His scoring has been just about the same in all three games while averaging 33.3 points per game, so it’s not like he is assisting in games where he doesn’t score. He just isn’t assisting much.

Additionally, the Suns’ defense is not conducive to assists. Mavs guard Luka Doncic is the only player to have more than 5.5 assists in a game against the Suns through one week of play. In the first game of the season, he handed out six assists in the Mavericks’ loss.

The price on this prop is getting more expensive at the major sportsbooks, so jump in now before this number changes.
