It feels like we are paying a tax on Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant against his former team in tonight’s battle against the Phoenix Suns. It also doesn’t hurt that Durant scored 34 points last time out. Or that Alperen Sengun is out tonight. 

Either way, this is his highest-scoring line of the year.

The Suns deserve a bit more credit, as they rank eighth in defensive rating and just knocked off the Thunder last night. Durant has also only cleared this line eight times all year. I’ll fade him at this number to cash $7.81 on a $10 wager.

Karl-Anthony Towns Under 32.5 points + rebounds (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Now that Mitchell Robinson has returned from injury, we’ve seen this combo line for Karl-Anthony Towns drop from as high as 38.5. I still think there is value in this spot, given a combination of Robinson’s increased role and the matchup against the Detroit Pistons.

The Pistons rank third in paint defense. Their defensive rating improves by three points without Jalen Duren, according to DataBallr. Towns, meanwhile, averages 3.6 fewer points and 1.8 fewer rebounds when playing with Robinson.

Put it all together, the Under is the way to go.

Anfernee Simons Over 12.5 points (-115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Boston Celtics guard Anfernee Simons has been on a roll of late. He’s scored at least 13 points in four straight games and six of his previous eight matchups. He now has a favorable matchup against the Chicago Bulls.

The Bulls rank second in pace, 22nd in defensive rating, and 20th in 3-pointers allowed. That’s all good news for Simons, who knocked down five triples against the Los Angeles Clippers in his last game.

DraftKings has set this line at 13.5, which suggests a bargain at bet365.

Ajay Mitchell Over 11.5 points (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I won’t apologize for continuing to bet on Oklahoma City Thunder guard Ajay Mitchell. The market continues to underrate his impact off the bench for the best team in the league.

Mitchell has averaged 12.1 points per game this season, clearing this line 12 times. He’s scored at least 12 points in six of his previous eight contests. I expect him to see even more playing time and usage against the Charlotte Hornets on the second night of a back-to-back.

I project 14 points for Mitchell, so give me this -110 value on Over 11.5.
