My NBA best bets for Sunday include four players worth backing at their current prices. Atlanta Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu leads the card ahead of his matchup against the Golden State Warriors in one of the stronger battles of the night.

Atlanta Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu’s name has been involved in some trade chatter after the team dealt Trae Young earlier this week. That doesn’t make a lot of sense considering Okongwu’s recent form, as he’s averaging 19 points per game since Dec. 27.

During that stretch, Okongwu has cleared this scoring line in six of his seven contests. He’s averaging 13.9 field goal attempts per contest.

Perhaps these trade rumors will motivate him even more against the Golden State Warriors, who are 17th in paint points allowed. At this -104 value, a $10 bet earns $9.62.

Anthony Black, (Magic) Over 23.5 points + assists (-112) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Magic guard Anthony Black will continue to have a bigger role with Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs out for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans. In the 11 games without those two, Black is averaging 21 points and 4.8 assists while clearing this combo line eight times.

Black has commanded a 26.1% usage in those 11 matchups. He’s averaging 8.6 potential assists and 15.6 field goal attempts per contest. The Pelicans are an ideal opponent to target Black, as they rank 30th in defensive rating and 29th in assists allowed.

This line has climbed up to 24.5 in the market overnight, so it’s worth playing the lone 23.5 remaining at bet365 to win $8.93 on a $10 bet.

Paul George, (76ers) Over 14.5 points (-121) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Is there a chance that Paul George has found a rhythm? He’s scored 18-plus points in back-to-back games, clearing this scoring prop six times in his past nine outings.

More importantly, George has become more involved of late. He attempted 21 shots against the Magic last time out, matching his highest number of field goal attempts in a game this season. Unlike the first time, however, George took 21 shots while playing with Tyrese Maxey on Friday.

This Over costs as much as -200 at BetMGM, so I’ll take advantage of the deal at DraftKings to win $8.26 on a $10 bet.

Keldon Johnson (Spurs) Over 12.5 points (+100) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

For the second night in a row, I’m targeting the Over on Keldon Johnson’s scoring prop in my NBA player props today column. It worked last night, as the San Antonio Spurs forward scored 18 points off the bench against the Boston Celtics.

Johnson has emerged as a serious Sixth Man of the Year candidate due to his scoring impact as a reserve. He’s averaging 14.1 points per game this season, clearing this number in eight of his previous 12 matchups.

I’ll keep riding with Johnson on Sunday, especially at this price tag from DraftKings.
