I predict the Thunder will beat the Nuggets by a final score of Thunder 124, Nuggets 118. The Thunder have won six consecutive games, and they beat the Nuggets once in Denver. Yet, I expect the Nuggets to keep this game closer than oddsmakers expect. The Nuggets have won 13 of their last 16 games, and only one of their losses during that span was by more than 10 points.

The Nuggets are allowing over 116 points per game, and though they held the Thunder to just 102 the first time they met this season, that was the first game of the year. These teams rank third and fourth in the league in points per game, so I fully expect this to be a high-scoring affair. However, the Thunder’s second-ranked scoring defense will keep the Nuggets below their season average.

In Friday’s win over the Phoenix Suns, Jokic scored 31 points, dished out 22 assists, and pulled down 21 rebounds. While all three marks were above Jokic’s season average, it’s hardly surprising to see him stuff the stat sheet, as he is averaging a triple-double this season.

Jokic is likely to have fewer opportunities against the second-best scoring defense in the league. That said, he has recorded a triple-double in each of his previous two games against them. He’s scored below his season average in both games, and I don’t want to rely on his teammates to knock down shots to hit his assists prop. That’s why I’m backing him to hit his rebounding Over.

Jokic has pulled down 32 rebounds against the Thunder this season, and he recorded 20 in the Nuggets’ win in November. For as good as the Thunder have been this season, they are giving up the fourth-most rebounds per game. Getting this line right around Jokic’s season average of 12.9 is too good to pass up.

🏀 Jalen Williams player prop pick: Over 1.5 three-pointers made ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -125 via DraftKings ($12.50 to win $10)

The Thunder are averaging the eighth-most three-pointers per game as a team, but they don’t have a single player averaging more than 2.4 made shots from beyond the arc. Therefore, it’s difficult to correctly pick which of their players will succeed, especially in a solid matchup such as the one today.

I’m going with Williams to take advantage of the 24th-ranked Nuggets’ 3-point defense for a few reasons. First, the price is much better for him than for his teammates. Second, and more importantly, Williams has been shooting very well of late.

Williams has knocked down at least four threes in three of his last four games. Since the All-Star break, he’s made multiple threes in six of his eight games. He was just 1-for-6 in his last game, but considering he’s shot at least 50% from deep in three of his last four, I’m backing him against a defense allowing opponents to make 41.4% of their threes in their last three games.

🏀 Best Shai Gilgeous-Alexander prop pick: Over 6.5 assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -115 via DraftKings ($11.50 to win $10)

This number is set a little higher than Gilgeous-Alexander’s season average of 6.2 assists per game. However, Gilgeous-Alexander has been on fire lately, dishing out at least seven assists in three consecutive games. Since the All-Star break, he has at least seven assists in six of his eight games, and he hasn’t recorded fewer than five assists during that span.

The Nuggets are allowing 29.2 assists per game, which is the most in the NBA. Gilgeous-Alexander has recorded 14 assists in two games against them. Though he had only six assists in the last meeting with the Nuggets, this is a good matchup, and Gilgeous-Alexander is finding his teammates with such ease right now that the Over is a great play.
