Dort was practically invisible against the Suns in Game 4, but I'm not overreacting to one bad outing. He had eight or more points in three of his four first-round games, and against the Lakers specifically, he scored seven or more in all three regular-season matchups.

Dort attempted seven or more shots in each of the Thunder's first three games in the first round, and I expect similar usage from him in Game 1 tonight. DraftKings has his Over 6.5 points at -120, but this bet is good up to -140 on the best sports betting sites.

Austin Reaves Over 20.5 points (-111)

With Doncic out, I can't imagine a Lakers game plan that doesn't run through Reaves offensively.

He's averaging 26.9 PPG without Doncic in the lineup this season, and I expect that number to climb as he gets more comfortable shouldering the load as the Lakers' primary scorer. He's only two games removed from injury, so I'm not putting too much weight on his first-round stats - the bigger picture is what matters when projecting his output moving forward.

Reaves Over 20.5 points is -111 at DraftKings, but I'd be comfortable playing this up to -130 on the best sports betting apps.

James upsetting Houston has reignited the GOAT debate, and tonight, he’s in a spot where he could make history in his career from a gambling perspective.

Most Lakers fans, including myself, aren’t expecting L.A. to win this series, but James leading it to a victory as a 15.5-point underdog at this age would add to his legacy. He’s attempted 20-plus shots in four of his last five games, so he should get up enough shots to hit this.

💡 How I'm betting Lakers vs. Thunder: NBA Playoffs Game 1 strategy

I would recommend prioritizing what you have already seen these teams do to other opponents in the first round rather than how they performed against one another during the regular season. It’s going to be hard for these teams - especially the Lakers, who had less time off - to dramatically change game plans from one round to another. That may happen by Game 3, but right now we will likely see more of the same from both head coaches. We’ll revisit how we approach player props as the series progresses.
