And yet, this might be his best matchup of the young season. The Lakers don’t have the athleticism to slow down perimeter options in a high-paced game. They have surrendered an average of 18.4 points per game to the likes of Jrue Holiday, Malik Monk, Dennis Schroder, Russell Westbrook, and Buddy Hield.

I like Coward’s chances of clearing this line on Friday. FanDuel has the Over juiced to +100, where a $10 bet will return a $10 profit with an implied probability of 50%.

Lakers center Deandre Ayton has started to find a rhythm with his new team. He’s averaged 18.3 points and 11 rebounds over his last three outings, which is closer to his career metrics of 16.4 points and 10.5 rebounds.

Ayton’s rebounds line has climbed to 9.5 for Friday’s game, with FanDuel offering the best price (+100) on his Over. I’d rather take the extra value on his double-double odds, considering he’s recorded two such performances over his last three games and the Grizzlies have struggled on the glass this year.

At +125 odds at FanDuel (44.44% implied probability), a winning $10 bet nets $12.50 in profit.

⬇️ Jaren Jackson Jr. Under 26.5 points + rebounds (-117) ⭐⭐⭐

I’ve been underwhelmed by Jaren Jackson Jr.’s play so far this season. Even with the lack of frontcourt options, the Memphis forward is averaging 17.6 and 5.2 rebounds per contest. He’s failed to clear this prop in all five games thus far.

While a matchup against the Lakers should lead to better results, the market has already baked that in and then some. The Lakers limited Timberwolves forward Naz Reid’s production in both head-to-head meetings, so I think they have the frontcourt depth to contain Jackson.

Wait a minute. Am I believing too much in Ayton? I can’t believe it’s come to this.
