The bottom two teams in the Atlantic division square off tonight for the first time this season. One of them will see their streak of covering the spread come to an end as the Philadelphia 76ers (8-8) have covered in four straight, while the Brooklyn Nets (8-9) have covered in two straight and seven of their last nine.

The 76ers broke their three-game winning streak this past Saturday against the Minnesota Timberwolves (9-8) but managed to cover a +3.5-point spread. They were without Tyrese Maxey (left ankle) and James Harden (right foot tendon sprain) for that matchup, and Joel Embiid (left mid-foot sprain) has been ruled out alongside them tonight. Philadelphia’s top three scorers will be sidelined, but their fourth-highest scorer Tobias Harris is expected to return after missing the last two games with a hip injury.

The Nets come in riding a two-game win streak and will be led by Kevin Durant who is tied at 516 for the most points scored this season. Ben Simmons has played much better for them of late, following up his first double-double of the season with a season-high 22 points. They have a chance to be at full strength tonight, but Nicolas Claxton (illness) and Yuta Watanabe (hamstring) remain game-time decisions.

Brooklyn won three of the four matchups against Philadelphia last season including a 129-100-point victory this past March. The Nets (-320) are heavily favored over the 76ers (+260) by 8 points with the over/under set at 217. Without their top two players, the 76ers will need another big game from Shake Milton who is averaging only 6.8 PPG on the season but scored a season-high 27 last time out.
