A light four-game slate in the NBA is headlined by Ben Simmons' return to Philadelphia with the Brooklyn Nets, but we’re not expecting much brotherly love for the former No. 1 overall draft pick. Check out our top Nets-76ers NBA picks.

The oft-maligned Simmons will make his return to Philadelphia after his trade to Brooklyn a season ago. Simmons started the 2022-23 campaign on a sour note, but he’s looked much better over his last two games. Nets guard Kyrie Irving has been reinstated after an eight-game suspension, and the band is back together.

Conversely, the Sixers will be without their Big 3 of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and James Harden. Can the shorthanded Sixers win at home against their former star?

Here are our Nets-76ers NBA picks for Tuesday (odds via PointsBet; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Nets vs. 76ers Odds

Nets vs. 76ers Odds Analysis

The line opened at Brooklyn -7, but it’s risen by nearly two points on most sportsbooks. Even at that modest opening, the Sixers received 67% of tickets and 93% of the cash to cover. Now, at +8.5, Philadelphia is drawing 60% of the tickets and 92% of the cash.

Sports bettors are expecting a low-scoring affair, and this one might turn into an ugly slugfest. The Under has drawn 50% of tickets but 99% of the cash at its current 217.5 line, which has only fluctuated by half a point since opening.

Nets vs. 76ers Picks

Nets vs. 76ers ATS Pick

76ers +7.5 (-107) ★★★★★

“The Sixers will be without Harden, Maxey, and Embiid. Surely they can’t win this game.”

I won’t disagree with you, nor will I place money on the Philadelphia moneyline. This is all about the spread, and the Sixers can cover even if they don’t win. Home dogs are 51-37-1 ATS this season, and spotting this team nearly eight points in front of its raucous crowd is a mistake by the oddsmakers.

Brooklyn is 2-0 ATS in divisional games, 5-4 on the road, and 4-3 after a win. The Sixers are 4-2 as underdogs, 3-0 as home dogs, and 6-4 at home. Things are finally starting to gel for the Nets, but we’ve seen them fall apart in big spots before. We can expect the Sixers to be extra motivated in Simmons’ homecoming game. We’re taking Philly and the points as the big home underdog.

Nets vs. 76ers O/U Pick

Under 217.5 (-107) ★★★★★

The Nets hit the Over in three of their last four games while the Sixers are 2-2 against the number in that span, but this one is set up to be low-scoring. Philadelphia won’t put up a ton of points without Harden, Maxey, and Embiid, but the pace of play and defense can limit Brooklyn’s scoring ability and keep things close. The only way the Sixers can stay competitive is by mucking things up and playing an ugly game against a much more talented roster.

This total is as high as 218 on FanDuel, but we’ll comfortably take it at 217.5 via PointsBet with longer odds to avoid the push. You can get it at 217.5 on DraftKings, but the odds are slightly shorter at -110.

Nets vs. 76ers Prop Pick

Simmons Over 22.5 points + assists + rebounds (-115) ★★★★★

Remember that Simmons guy? He’s been much better over the last couple of games, and his prop is set low enough for us to exploit it. His points, assists, rebounds number has risen from 21.5 to 23.5 on FanDuel, but we can still get it at PointsBet for 22.5 with longer odds.

Simmons crushed the Over on this prop line in each of his last two games, and he’s done it in four of six games this season in which he played at least 30 minutes. He’s logged that many in each of his last two games, and I’d be shocked if he’s not on the court for big minutes against his former team.
