With Jalen Brunson out with an ankle injury, I expect New York Knicks guard Mile McBride to have more on-ball responsibilities. That’s what happened when Brunson was out for several games last spring.

In seven games without Brunson, McBride averaged 5.14 dimes per contest and cleared this line six times. Even this year, McBride’s assists per 100 possessions increased from 4.1 to 7.2 in the 95 minutes without Brunson, per PBP Stats.

Basically, I’d be happy to take this Over at 4.5. BetMGM is offering a huge bargain by setting the line at 3.5.

⬆️  Desmond Bane player prop: Over 5.5 assists (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Like the Knicks, the Orlando Magic will be without their best player. With Paolo Banchero sidelined, they need someone to be the lead creator in their half-court offense against the Brooklyn Nets.

My bet is guard Desmond Bane, who has averaged 10.6 assists per 100 possessions in the 57 minutes without Banchero this season (per PBP Stats). Bane, the lead pick-and-roll ball-handler for Orlando, has cleared this line in four straight games with 28 dimes over that span.

At this -114 price tag, a $10 bet earns $8.77. That’s quite the deal considering this same Over costs as much as -155 at Caesars.

⬆️  Jeremiah Fears player prop: Over 3.5 assists (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

New Orleans Pelicans rookie guard Jeremiah Fears has carved out a bigger role in the past four games without Jordan Poole and Zion Williamson. Fears leads the New Orleans Pelicans with an average of 48 passes per contest over that span, according to the NBA’s advanced passing stats.

That passing hasn’t quite translated to assists just yet. He’s only dished out a total of 11 assists over the last four outings, clearing this prop just once.

However, I like Fears’ chances against a Los Angeles Lakers team that is finishing up a week-long road trip with a back-to-back against the Pelicans and Milwaukee Bucks. This -110 value leads to a $9.09 profit on a $10 wager.

⬆️  Brandon Williams player prop: Over 4.5 assists (-114) ⭐⭐⭐

Guard Brandon Williams has settled into a starting role for the Dallas Mavericks, who desperately need some creation from a ball-handler. 

Williams recorded nine assists against the Phoenix Suns last time out. He’s cleared this prop in two of his previous three outings, with the lone exception being when he had 12 potential assists (per NBA’s advanced stats) against the Milwaukee Bucks.

I’ve been a fan of Williams’ game for multiple seasons now, so this is a bet on a player I believe in, as he makes the most of his opportunity. Caesars is charging -130 on this ticket, so give me FanDuel’s -114.
