💰 Best NBA player prop today: Jake LaRavia (Lakers) Over 13.5 points (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Check out all of our NBA analysis and expert predictions this season.
With Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves sidelined, LaRavia should have plenty of usage for the Los Angeles Lakers against the Portland Trail Blazers. It certainly doesn’t hurt that he’s playing well, clearing this prop in five of his past eight outings and averaging 14.8 points over that span.
LaRavia has only played one game without Doncic and Reaves this year, scoring 11 points against the Trail Blazers. But that was without LeBron James, who is available tonight and can set his teammates up with open looks.
Per Databallr, LaRavia’s true shooting is 13.4% better with James on the floor.
🔥 More NBA player prop picks
Anfernee Simons (Celtics) Over 16.5 points (-105) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Simons hasn’t made a start all year, something that this team also deliberately chose to do with Payton Pritchard during his Sixth Man of the Year campaign last season. With Pritchard doubtful on Saturday, Simons might be in line for a rare start.
Even as a reserve, Simons should have a big role coming off his best performance of the year. He scored 39 points on 13-of-28 shooting, playing 34 minutes off the bench. The Atlanta Hawks are 16th in defensive rating and second in pace, so this is a favorable spot for Simons to keep it going.
Jaden Ivey (Pistons) Over 8.5 points (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Ivey could see some extended run in tonight’s matchup against the Indiana Pacers. He’s scored double figures in two of his previous four games, averaging 11.8 points and 19.8 minutes over that span.
The Pacers are 18th in defensive rating and 11th in pace, so Ivey should get a few buckets on them in transition. He scored 12 points in 12 minutes during the last head-to-head meeting on Nov. 24, clearing the same closing line.
If Ivey can play 20-plus minutes, I like his chances of cashing this Over.
Moses Moody (Warriors) Over 1.5 three-pointers made (-122) ⭐⭐⭐
Moody has knocked down 11 three-pointers over his last two games, scoring 35 points over that span. His points prop has climbed from 8.5 to 9.5 ahead of Saturday’s matchup against the Charlotte Hornets.
If Moody is going to surpass his scoring line, he’s likely to do so from beyond the arc. Of his 12 baskets in the last two games, 11 have been triples. The Hornets rank 24th in defending above-the-break threes, an area where Moody is shooting 42%.
