The Philadelphia 76ers visit the windy city Saturday to take on the Chicago Bulls. The 76ers look to build on their second season win Friday night. Here are our 76ers-Bulls picks.

Neither team has gotten off to a particularly hot start, with Philadelphia (2-4) traveling to Chicago to face the Bulls (3-3). 76ers center Joel Embiid was ruled out of Friday’s game against the Toronto Raptors and is day-to-day heading into this one. Bulls all-star guard Zach Lavine is also day-to-day after missing his team’s contest against the San Antonio Spurs Friday.

76ers point guard Tyrese Maxey came off a career-best 44-point outburst yesterday and looks to stay hot against a Bulls team missing point guard Lonzo Ball for the foreseeable future. The Bulls have something to prove, since they’ve lost their last 11 meetings against the 76ers, not winning since March of 2019.

Here are our Philadelphia 76ers vs. Chicago Bulls NBA Saturday picks (odds via Bet365, DraftKings Sportsbook and Fanduel Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

76ers vs. Bulls Picks

  • ATS: 76ers -1 (-110 via Bet365) ★★★
  • Over/Under: Over 220.5 (-110 via Draftkings) ★★
  • Prop: Nikola Vucevic Over 15.5 (-115 via Fanduel) ★★

76ers vs. Bulls ATS Pick

76ers -1 (-110) ★★★

It’s really hard to go against a team that's won 11 in a row and 14 of its last 15 against the Chicago Bulls. While Embiid’s injury status adds some uncertainty to this game, the 76ers should be much better than their 2-4 record and look to build on Friday night’s win.

The Bulls are also playing on the second night of a back-to-back after losing to the San Antonio Spurs. Star shooting guard Zach Lavine is listed as day-to-day, and if he's out they'll rely heavily on guard-forward Demar Derozan’s scoring. The Bulls are 1-2 this season without Lavine.

Until Chicago proves it can match up with Philadelphia, it’s hard to bet against the 76ers, especially with such a close spread.

76ers vs. Bulls O/U Pick

Over 221.5 (-110) ★★

The Over/Under is pretty hard to select in this one, but here are a few reasons to take the Over tonight. The two teams would have covered the Over in 6 of their last 11 contests against each other. Neither team has been particularly impressive defensively this season, with the Bulls ranking 15th and the 76ers 21st in defensive rating so far.

It may be nitpicking, but the teams combine to average about 222 points so far this year. Most top sportsbooks have moved the Over/Under to 221 or 221.5 at this point, so if you’re going to bet the Over, do it at Draftkings where it's still set to 220.5.

76ers vs. Bulls Prop Pick

Vucevic Over 15.5 (-115) ★★

When looking at player game props, search for statistical anomalies. Bulls center Nikola Vucevic scoring 15 points or less in this contest looks like one to me. He’s off to a relatively slow start, averaging 16 points per game in 2022, but averaged 16.5 points or better in 9 out of the last 10 seasons. Vucevic averaged 19.2 PPG against the 76ers throughout his career and scored 16 points or better against the team that drafted him in 6 of his last 8 games.

Furthermore, if either Embiid or Lavine sit this one out, it should help Vucevic's cause. If Embiid's not playing, it means he’ll get matched up mostly against 76ers forward-center Montrezl Harrell and power forward P.J. Tucker. If Lavine sits, it should mean more shots for Vucevic since the Bulls will be forced to go to him more.

The odds for Vucevic to get Over 15.5 points look like good value.
