Two teams tied in the latest WNBA standings will square off on tonight, when the Las Vegas Aces (16-14) host the Seattle Storm (16-4). My Storm vs. Aces odds and prediction digs into the battle for playoff seeding.

The winner will be the No. 6 seed in the playoff picture, helping their WNBA championship odds with a little over a month left to play in the regular season. Las Vegas is a short home betting favorite ahead of tipoff from Michelob ULTRA Arena at 10 p.m. ET (ION).

The Aces have had better results since taking Jewell Loyd out of the starting lineup. They have won four of the past five games, which included a pair of victories over the Golden State Valkyries entering Friday night.

The Storm have dropped three in a row following a second-half collapse against the Minnesota Lynx. My Storm vs. Aces prediction will side with the team with more momentum.

⬇️ Under 161.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

📊 Best odds: -110 via FanDuel ($10 to win $9.09)

I’m expecting a low-scoring affair with two teams motivated to win tonight. The Under has only come through once in three head-to-head meetings this season, but this marks the highest total of the year for this matchup.

One of the underrated aspects of the Aces removing Loyd from their starting lineup is that it improves their perimeter defense. They rank seventh in defensive rating over the last five games, which is better than their season-long standing (ninth) in that metric.

On the other side, the Storm are second in the league with a defensive rating of 98.5. They have led the WNBA with a defensive rating of 96.3 since July 1, which makes Gabby Williams a strong candidate for Defensive Player of the Year following the injury to Napheesa Collier.

Las Vegas has held its opponent to 77 or fewer points in three of the past four outings. Seattle is giving up 79 points per contest this season.

It wouldn’t surprise me if neither team cracked 80, cashing this Under.

If we get a bunch of missed shots, that means there will be plenty of rebound opportunities. Ogwumike could clean up, as she’s averaging 7.1 rebounds per game this year.

Ogwumike has rebounded well against the Aces, clearing this prop in all three matchups. She’s averaged 9.3 rebounds per game against Las Vegas this season.
