With star players Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese both out, some of the luster is lost ahead of the Indiana Fever hosting the Chicago Sky on Saturday (8 p.m. ET, CBS) at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. However, there is a big play we love for our Sky vs. Fever odds and prediction.

Neither Clark nor Reese have a timetable for return from injury, but this will be a key game for Indiana (17-14), which is an 11.5-point betting favorite and continues to play admirably without its star as a contender for the WNBA championship odds.

Chicago is 1-4 without Reese this month but has lost four straight head-to-head matchups against Indiana. The Fever can improve to 4-0 in the season series with a win over the shorthanded Sky.

However, the logic remains the same for a full-game Under.

Chicago has only scored more than 67 points once in its four games in August, and that came in Tuesday's 78-64 home win over the Washington Mystics. The Sky are last in the league with an offensive rating of 91.1 in August, highlighting the importance of Reese’s impact.

To make matters worse for the Sky, Indiana has leaned on its defense without Clark. The Fever are 5-4 since Clark suffered her most recent injury, holding their opponents to 78 points or fewer in four of their five victories.

Aliyah Boston has emerged as Indiana's best player without Clark, averaging 15.1 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. She’s fourth in the league with an average of 6.1 defensive rebounds per contest, which bodes well in this matchup without Reese.

Chicago’s offensive rebound rate has dropped from 35.2% to 28.2% since Aug. 1. That should allow Boston to clean up the glass on the defensive end in this matchup, which could help her record a third double-double against the Sky in 2025.
