Fury to win fight (-650) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Even though Fury hasn't competed in 16 months and is nearing the twilight of his illustrious career, he's still a quality operator capable of handling modest challenges. The owner of one of the longest reaches in any combat sport at 85 inches, the towering heavyweight knows how to use the ring effectively and frustrate opponents with his unorthodox style.
Makhmudov is considered a dangerous opponent because of his 90% knockout rate, but the reality is, he is a career fringe contender who's never competed for a serious heavyweight title after nearly 10 years as a pro.
I expect Fury to respect his Russian counterpart for the first couple of rounds as he feels him out and shakes off some ring rust, but once he finds his rhythm, it's mostly just going to be target practice for as long as Makhmudov can take it.

Over 8.5 Rounds (-104) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Under normal circumstances, Fury probably finishes this fight relatively early, but given the layoff coupled with the respect he has for his opponents' punching power, I expect this to be a relatively tame fight early before picking up just past the midway point.
Fury is known for wearing opponents down over the long run rather than gunning for quick finishes, as highlighted by five of his last six fights going over 8.5 rounds, including the last four straight. This looks to be another fight that follows that trend, with either Fury winning a decision or forcing a TKO stoppage late in the fight. In both scenarios, we should be hitting this over 8.5 total rounds bet.
