It’s Round 2 of the Formula 1 season, and we have you covered with our Saudi Arabian Grand Prix picks and predictions based on the F1 odds from our best F1 betting sites.

The 2024 F1 season commenced with Max Verstappen lifting yet another first-place trophy while continuing his winning streak, picking up from where he left off in 2023. The reigning champion crossed the finish line in Bahrain just over 22 seconds ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez, who finished second. It appears that no team managed to find a solution for Red Bull's dominance over the offseason.

The F1 circuit now visits Jeddah for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix for just the fourth time ever. Verstappen unsurprisingly took his second straight pole on Friday ahead of the race. Charles Leclerc will start alongside him on the front row, with Perez in third. Three different drivers have won a race in Jeddah: Lewis Hamilton, Perez, and, of course, Verstappen.

The street course features several high-speed corners and three DRS zones, both of which once again favor the Red Bull drivers. The odds from our best sportsbooks reflect that, as both Verstappen and Perez sit at the top.

Here are our 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix picks and predictions based on the F1 odds for the Jeddah Corniche Circuit (odds via our best sports betting sites; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Saudi Arabian Grand Prix predictions

Favorite: Max Verstappen (-700 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Few have dominated their sport like Verstappen, especially over the last three seasons. The Dutch phenom has racked up 44 wins during that span along with 56 podium appearances across 66 races. Additionally, he's led 2,270 laps since the 2021 season, including an astounding 1,003 in 2023.

Red Bull’s top dog enters this week following a season-opening victory in Bahrain. Not only did he win that race, but he started on the pole before leading all 57 laps and clocking the fastest lap of the day. It took just over 22 seconds for second-place Sergio Perez to cross the finish line after Verstappen snatched the checkered flag.

The biggest drawback of laying this much juice on an outright winner, even Verstappen, is that anything can happen. Max has notched only one victory over three races at this track. His teammate Perez snagged the win in 2023 after Verstappen experienced problems in qualifying and started 15th.

Long shot: Carlos Sainz (+2500 via Caesars)⭐⭐⭐

Prop: VCARB double points finish (+400 via DraftKings)⭐⭐⭐⭐

The newly renamed Visa Cash App RB F1 team consists of Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda. The two finished just 15 seconds outside of the points in 13th and 14th place in Bahrain. There was a touch of drama in that finish, as the team ordered Tsunoda to swap positions with Riccardo.

The latter took over for Nyck de Vries 11 races into the 2023 season. He competed in seven events with an average finish of 12.7, notching one result in the points. However, he did close out the campaign one position away from a top-10 run in Abu Dhabi. The Aussie also tallied a top-five result in Jeddah during 2021 while driving for McLaren.

Meanwhile, Tsunoda ran full-time for Alpha Tauri in 2023 with a 13.6-place average finish while registering six outcomes in the points. However, three of those results occurred within the last five races of the season. The Japanese driver finished one position outside of the points three times in 2023, including his 11th-place showing in Jeddah.

Who has the pole for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix?

Verstappen sits in the front of the grid for the second straight time to begin the 2024 season. The Red Bull dynamo posted a lap of 1:27.472 during the third qualifying session on Friday, with Leclerc behind at 1:27.791, and Perez finishing with a time of 1:27.807.

Both of the Red Bull cars are in the top three yet again. The two McLarens lurk not far behind, with Oscar Piastri in fifth and Lando Norris in sixth, while George Russell and Lewis Hamilton are in seventh and eighth, respectively, for Mercedes.
