Los Angeles looks to even up the series at home following a brutal Game 3 loss to Edmonton, and we're offering our top Oilers vs. Kings predictions and expert picks for Sunday based on the best NHL odds.

The Los Angeles Kings (44-27-11) managed to snatch a 5-4 overtime victory in Game 2, leveling the series, but the Edmonton Oilers (49-27-6) have otherwise been dominant.

Edmonton kicked off the series with a commanding 7-4 win in Game 1 and followed up with a convincing 6-1 victory in Game 3.

Could this be the year the Oilers fulfill their potential? The latest Stanley Cup odds certainly suggest so.

On Sunday, the Oilers have the opportunity to seize a commanding 3-1 series lead. Puck drop is set for 10:30 p.m. ET at Crypto.com Arena.

Here are our best Oilers vs. Kings predictions and NHL picks (odds via our best NHL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Oilers vs. Kings predictions for Sunday

Oilers vs. Kings Over 6.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

There have been 27 goals through three games in this series with all three contests hitting the Over. The Game 1 total was set at 5.5 and the 7-4 final flew past that. It went up to 6.0 for Game 2, and the teams combined for nine goals. It was up to 6.5 on Friday night, and the Oilers put up six themselves while allowing one for the Over.

We are once again getting a 6.5 here with the Over only at -110. Playoff games tend to be lower-scoring, but that hasn’t been the case between these teams. That’s likely due to the lackluster goaltending on both sides with Stuart Skinner in Edmonton and Cam Talbot for the Kings.

The Kings simply can’t slow down the Oilers, so they’ll need to increase their offensive output if they want a chance to win. That should expose some holes in their defense and allow for another Over on Sunday night in Los Angeles.

Oilers -1.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Oilers have had the Kings’ number in each of the last two postseasons, as well as this calendar year. Edmonton has won four of the last five meetings since Feb. 26, with all four victories by at least two goals (4-2, 4-1, 7-4, 6-1).

As long as Skinner can play a decent game in net, the Oilers should be able to outscore the Kings by a few goals. Talbot hasn’t been too strong in this series, and the Oilers’ power play has been lethal (seven for 14).

If the Kings are to even up the series at home, it will likely be a closer game, but if the Oilers win, it has a decent chance of opening up a bit.

Best odds: +155 via Betway

First period Over 1.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This has been a high-scoring series with high-scoring first periods, as well. There were two goals in the opening frame of Game 1, four in Game 2, and three in Game 3.

The Kings’ defensive style that they played in the regular season won’t work against the high-flying Oilers. They should come out hot in Game 4 to avoid heading back to Edmonton facing a 3-1 deficit - although that is fairly likely to happen.

The Oilers also trended to the first period Over in the regular season with 47 of their 82 games going Over 1.5 in the opening frame.

Best odds: -150 via Betway
