Redblacks vs. Tiger-Cats Prediction, Odds & Expert Picks: CFL Week 15 Best Bets

Our best Redblacks vs. Lions prediction is backing the Over behind a strong performance from BC QB Nathan Rourke at home.

Two struggling CFL teams meet tonight at 10 p.m. ET (TSN/RDS, CBSSN) when the BC Lions host the Ottawa Redblacks at BC Place in Vancouver. Given how poorly both teams' defenses have played this season, my Redblacks vs. Lions prediction is taking the Over as part of my CFL picks.

This is the second straight game these two teams have played. The Lions are an 8.5-point betting favorite despite losing 34-33 to the Redblacks last week.

The Lions are the best Over team in the CFL this season at 8-4, having hit the Over in six straight games. While BC QB Nathan Rourke has been lighting up the scoreboard, all the credit can't go to him, as the Lions' horrendous defense deserves a major hat tip after allowing 33-plus points in five of their last six games.

So although Ottawa QB Dru Brown won't be starting, and backup Dustin Crum will be leading the offense, the Redblacks shouldn't have too much trouble holding up their end of this Over. Crum led the team to 34 points last week, with his dual-threat ability helping to expose a BC defense allowing the second-most points per game in the league (29.8).

But Ottawa's defense isn't much better, giving up the third-most points (29.1), and the Lions' offense is poised to explode. With Rourke at the helm, Buck Pierce's team is third in the league in points (28.3) and first in yards per game (425.8).

If the Lions can hit the Over for a seventh straight game - there's a 52.38% probability they will by these odds - a $10 bet pays a $9.09 profit.

💰 Best Redblacks vs. Lions player prop bet

⬆️ Nathan Rourke Over 330.5 passing yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐

He may not have the Lions in the Grey Cup odds race, but Rourke is looking every bit as good as he did when he won CFL Most Outstanding Canadian in 2022. The former Ohio star has been putting up jaw-dropping numbers since returning from an early-season injury.

In his eight games since returning to the Lions' lineup, Rourke has thrown for Over 330.5 yards five times while averaging 340.4 passing yards per game. He shouldn't have too much trouble carving up an Ottawa defense that allows the second-most passing yards per game (274.5), and if he can hit the Over, a $10 bet pays an $8.70 profit.

📈 Redblacks vs. Lions betting odds analysis

The Lions opened as a 9.5-point betting favorite at home against the Redblacks, due in part to Brown's health. But despite Brown being healthy enough to dress for Ottawa, he's backing up Crum against the Lions, which is why BC remains a 9.5-point favorite. With no line movement yet, I don't expect there to be any late ahead of kickoff.

How do CFL odds work?

When betting on the CFL, the point spread shows how many points the favorite needs to win by in order to cash the bet. For example, a favorite of -3 must win by more than 3 points to cover the spread, while an underdog at +3 must win outright or lose by fewer than 3 points to cover the spread.

Moneyline odds represent the payout for picking the outright winner (+200 means a $100 bet wins $200, while -200 means a $200 bet wins $100). Over/Unders let you wager on whether the combined total will be higher or lower than the set number.
