⚾ South Korea vs. Dominican Republic Predictions & Odds: WBC 2026 Betting Picks Today

The Dominican Republic is one of the favorites to win the WBC, but can South Korea keep this game close after nearly taking down Japan at Tokyo Dome?

Though I acknowledge how truly great this Dominican Republic team is, it needs to be said that people are sleeping on South Korea. This is a team that took Japan to the brink in a true road game at Tokyo Dome, and my South Korea vs. Dominican Republic predictions believe the underdogs can keep this game just as close.

The Dominican Republic is a -900 betting favorite, and though I wouldn't be so bold to bet on the underdogs to win outright, I'm pretty interested in backing South Korea on the 4.5 run line.

We get two very different pitchers on the mound for this one, as veteran Hyun Jin Ryu starts for South Korea while rising star Cristopher Sanchez gets the nod for the Dominican Republic.

💰 South Korea vs. Dominican Republic best bet

South Korea +4.5 (+102)

Maybe I'm underestimating how much better the Dominican Republic is than Japan, but I don't really see much separating those two teams, and South Korea lost 8-6 to Japan in a true road game.

This is a good baseball team with multiple MLB players. And sure, it traveled from Japan to Miami, but it also hasn't played since Monday, while the Dominicans played a hard-fought game against Venezuela on Wednesday night.

I wouldn't bet on South Korea to win outright, but I can see the Dominican Republic winning this game by a final score hovering around 6-2 or 7-3.

🔥 Best South Korea vs. Dominican Republic player props

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. 2+ hits (+155)

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been simply absurd during the WBC. All of his last 10 balls put in play were over 100 mph, and he has an absurd .500 batting average with two home runs and seven RBIs throughout the tournament.

Guerrero destroyed left-handed pitching this past season, and he's continued to do so during the WBC. Additionally, he hits toward the top of the lineup and gets some protection via Juan Soto. Hitting ahead of Soto will be Fernando Tatis Jr. and Ketel Marte, so if South Korea brings in a lefty to face Soto (or Marte before him, who's a switch-hitter), Vlad will also get to face said lefty.

I don't hate his odds to hit a home run (+350), but this is the bet I prefer of the two.

Cristopher Sanchez 6+ strikeouts (+128)

I like Sanchez to bounce back from a rough first WBC start, but this is also a pricing mistake.

The best odds any of our other best sports betting sites have on Sanchez to record six-plus strikeouts are +105, while most are trading the prop at minus money.

South Korea played good baseball during pool play, but it also struck out a ton. In the four games, it struck out 36 times, including 15 against Japan. Sanchez will be able to throw up to 80 pitches in this one, and I think he can rack up six-plus Ks in four-plus innings.

💣 South Korea vs. Dominican Republic home run prediction

Jahmai Jones home run (+850)

Here's another bet that I like both for the probability of it happening but also due to a pricing mistake. Jahmai Jones annihilated the ball in pool play, just as he did in limited action last year in MLB. And he especially crushes lefties, as the Tigers mostly used him as the weak-side platoon in 2025.

All of that is great, and I would bet on Jones to hit a home run at the +650 odds all of the other best sports betting apps have it priced at. But, um, this is really something. bet365 has made a huge mistake offering this at +850, and if you have access to that sportsbook, run, don't walk to bet it. Again, the +650 is good and I bet it myself, so you have plenty of options.

⚖️ How I'm betting South Korea vs. Dominican Republic

I've been practicing pretty strong bankroll management throughout the tournament, but with the field down to eight teams, we can open things up a bit. If you don't feel comfortable wagering the entire 4.33 units I suggested up top, that's completely fine.

The advice I'd give is pick one between the spread and Under on the total, and put a unit on that. And then you can do the same for Vlad or Sanchez. Or, you can ignore the game bets all together and bet only the player props, or vice versa. Add those with a wager of 0.2 to 0.33 units on the Jones homer.

That way, you can limit your overall stake on this game to around 2.25 units. But, I also have no problem dropping the entire 4.33 on this game. It comes down to personal comfort levels at this point.

Key players to watch

South Korea - Jahmai Jones: Jones has hit just .222 with one home run so far, but everything he hits is hard. I think he finds some gaps in massive loanDepot Park, or even launches one over the wall today.

Dominican Republic - Cristopher Sanchez: Sanchez serves as one of the three biggest favorites by the NL Cy Young odds, but he looked anything but the part in his first WBC game. Can he bounce back today?
