The Cincinnati Reds ended the Milwaukee Brewers’ 14-game winning streak, and they now head to Angel Stadium for an interleague series opener against the Los Angeles Angels.

The Angels have played three series at home against teams with a winning record since the All-Star break. Their success in those series has me backing them at favorable odds with my Reds vs. Angels prediction.

Reds righty Brady Singer has pitched to a 6.02 ERA and .294 OBA in 11 road starts, and left-handed hitters are slugging 109 points better against him than righties. All of that leads us to back Angels slugger Nolan Schanuel.

Schanuel has broken out of a mini 0-for-14 slump, going 5-for-8 in consecutive multi-hit games.

Schanuel could go over this projected total with another two-hit performance, which has a 27.78% implied probability based on FanDuel’s +260 odds. But given L.A.’s chances for success against the struggling Singer, Schanuel should mix in a run scored or RBI as well.
