The Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Cubs have gotten well-acquainted, with this being their fifth head-to-head matchup in four days, and we break down this series finale with our Brewers vs. Cubs prediction. First pitch from Wrigley Field is set for 2:20 p.m. ET, airing on MLB Network, FDSN Wisconsin, and Marquee Sports Network.

After losing the series opener, and with the NL Central race starting to get away from them, the Cubs turned in three consecutive victories with a much-needed sweep of Tuesday’s doubleheader followed by yesterday’s 4-3 win.
The Brewers have now lost three straight games for the first time since May 7-10, and I expect their struggles to continue for one more day as my Brewers vs. Cubs prediction.
This is Cubs southpaw Shota Imanaga’s fifth consecutive start against divisional opponents. Chicago is 2-2 in those games, which includes a 10-3 win over Milwaukee to start the streak. And in those two losses, Chicago provided Imanaga with three total runs of support, but I am expecting a better day offensively to help cash my Brewers vs. Cubs best bet.
Quinn Priester may be one of just 19 MLB pitchers with at least 11 wins this year, but his underlying metrics with an xERA of 3.82 suggest he is a product of elite run support with regression expected. He has pitched to a 7.31 ERA in three appearances against the Cubs, so the starting pitching edge lies squarely with the home favorites.
The best value on Chicago’s moneyline is at FanDuel, the only one of the best sports betting apps offering a price better than -135.

✅ Best Brewers vs. Cubs player prop: Nico Hoerner to record 2+ hits (+310 via FanDuel)
Cubs second baseman Nico Hoerner has the best numbers in one of the largest sample sizes against Priester, going 4-for-8 with a home run. But given Hoerner’s power struggles of late, I am opting for him to produce a multi-hit game instead of backing the Over on his total bases as my best Brewers vs. Cubs player prop.
Hoerner has just one extra-base hit in his last 16 games, which makes the +165 odds on the Over of 1.5 total bases less desirable. But Hoerner also has three games of two-plus hits among his last eight and in four of his last 10, so we are getting nearly double the price of him going over his total bases number by way of a multi-hit day.
A $10 winning wager would net $31 in profits, which is a steal compared to the $21 in profits one would stand to earn through Hoerner’s +210 odds at the low end of the market at the best MLB betting sites.
