When these odds first came out, Atlanta was supposed to trot out newly acquired starting pitcher Erick Fedde (and his poor ERA north of six while with the Braves). But now that the team has pivoted to rookie Hurston Waldrep as its starting pitcher, I am changing my moneyline pick to Atlanta as my Braves vs. Guardians prediction.

Waldrep has allowed two earned runs in 11 2/3 innings this season. He has good strikeout potential with 10 Ks in that span, which is important against a Guardians lineup that still ranks dead last in the majors in BABIP. 

While Cleveland is 7-1 in its eight series in the second half, I have confidence in Waldrep in his first road start as my Braves vs. Guardians best bet. After all, the Guardians are just 4-3 in Joey Cantillo’s seven outings since the start of July, with three of those wins coming against last-place American League teams. Cleveland is also just 19-23 in interleague games.
