A day after the Philadelphia Phillies belted a franchise record eight home runs, it is Seattle Mariners slugger Cal Raleigh who is the centerpiece of my best home run predictions today, after making history and possibly cementing the AL MVP award.

With Raleigh’s two home runs yesterday, he became the fourth player in AL history to hit 60 home runs in a season. He also has a great chance to add to his historic season tonight, and I think we have an excellent opportunity to build on our profitable day from yesterday.

Joining Raleigh in my home run MLB picks are Colton Cowser, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., and Spencer Steer. A $10 four-leg parlay would net over $5,800 in profit if all four go yard.

Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh has already had a historic year in many respects. He has the most home runs in a season for a catcher, became the first catcher to hit 50 or more home runs in a season (min. 50% of games played as a catcher), has the most home runs in a single season by a switch hitter, and the most for a season in Mariners franchise history.

Now Raleigh is just two home runs shy of tying Aaron Judge’s American League single-season record of 62.

Raleigh has a great chance to inch closer to that feat when facing righty Bradley Blalock. Since the calendar turned to August, Blalock has allowed 10 home runs in five starts, including multiple home runs allowed in four of the five. And he has not just been done in by the altitude of Coors Field, as he tied a season-high with three home runs allowed in his last road start against the Padres.

Left-handed hitters have crushed Blalock all season, slashing .360/.418/.600 against him. That plays well for Raleigh, who is slugging .683 from the left side as opposed to .560 as a right-handed hitter this season. 

The +176 odds at FanDuel would result in a profit of $17.60 if the slugger connects on another bomb, and carry an implied win probability of 36.23%. I would play Raleigh’s home run odds down to +160 when they are revealed.
