Best Home Run Predictions Today: MLB Odds, Picks & Prop Bets for Sept. 17

Last Updated: September 17, 2025 6:23 AM EDT • 4 minute read X Social Google News Link

The four teams we selected yesterday hit eight home runs, and after none of the four players we picked cashed in on that barrage, positive regression says we should be profitable with our best home run predictions today.
Today’s MLB picks focus on New York Mets slugger Juan Soto, who faces a San Diego Padres starting pitcher who has struggled to keep the ball in the ballpark against the team from Queens. My best home run bets today also take fliers on Corbin Carroll, Agustin Ramirez, and Ben Rice at potential juicy payouts.

💣 Best home run prediction today: MLB expert picks & prop bets
Here is my favorite MLB home run bet today and analysis of why it leads my MLB home run predictions.
⚾ Juan Soto (Mets) to hit a home run ⭐⭐⭐

The Mets will be relying heavily on Soto down the stretch, as the team looks to hold onto one of the NL wild card spots and avoid missing the playoffs.
Soto and the Mets get a good matchup against Padres righty Nick Pivetta, who has allowed six home runs and a .968 OPS in 88 combined at-bats against current Mets hitters.
He is one of three Mets hitters who own an OPS of .944 or better against Pivetta with a minimum of 10 career at-bats. Two of his four career hits against Pivetta have gone for extra bases, including one home run.
The righty has allowed a home run in four of his last five starts and six of his previous eight.
Soto is one of three players in MLB history with 40-plus home runs, 30-plus stolen bases, and at least 115 walks in a single season, which he accomplished in his first season with the Mets.
The lefty slugger has homered in two of the last six games. After his team combined to hit four home runs yesterday, his 24.15% implied probability to homer becomes a great value play based on DraftKings’ +314 odds. That is where I am headed for the best payout, where a $10 winning wager would net $34.10 in profits.
