Red Sox righty Brayan Bello has been outstanding against both of New York’s most feared right-handed hitters, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton.
Judge and Stanton have combined for four hits in 31 at-bats and one extra-base hit against Bello, which means the Yankees will likely have to get production from their lefties.
Bellinger is one of three projected New York starters that has a .941 OPS or better against Bello. His 1.417 OPS in this head-to-head matchup is the highest of any batter against today’s starting pitcher (min. 10 AB), as Bellinger has tagged Bello for four hits in 10 at-bats, including two home runs.
Bello has allowed two home runs in his last 14 innings, conceding nine of his 16 home runs against left-handed batters. Bellinger has nine home runs in 70 career postseason games, and I expect him to take advantage of the short porch at Yankee Stadium tonight.
Bellinger’s best home run implied odds are 16.13% through DraftKings’ +520 odds. But the best return on a winning $10 wager is through FanDuel’s +560 odds, which would net $56 in profits if he homers.
