Seager's temperature has been steadily rising, with the star shortstop recording seven hits in his last four games. Even better, four have gone for extra bases, with two leaving the yard.

Zoom out a touch further, and we see Seager smoldering with a .370 batting average and 1.137 OPS over the past week (seven games). That comes after a 1.040 OPS during July, and it all adds up to a slugger who has very much returned to form after a dip in June.

In hindsight, that outcome wasn't hard to anticipate.
