The 10 Best MLB Ballparks for Catching a Foul Ball: Comerica Leads the Way

Ask fans to plan out their ideal Major League Baseball stadium day, and you can be sure that many lists will include a fully-loaded hot dog, an ice-cold beer, and conversations with strangers who become fast friends (or bitter rivals, depending on whether their allegiance matches yours.)
And all of those things pale when compared to the opportunity to catch a ball hit into the stands.
Of course, the home run ball is the Cadillac of fan souvenirs – but with just 3.1 percent of at-bats producing a homer last season, and outfield seating scarce, your odds aren't great.
The most suitable alternative: the foul ball. A whopping 60 percent of major-league at-bats produce at least one foul ball – and if you've ever spent time in the MLB YouTube rabbit hole, you've almost certainly unearthed plate appearances where hitters have sent as many as 10 balls into the seats.
Not every foul ball is guaranteed to land among the spectators, especially with the advent of the safety net preventing balls from rocketing towards unknowing fans. But you're still far more likely to snag a foul than a homer – and we’ve narrowed down the best spots in the majors to come away with a souvenir.
(Detroit fans, rejoice.)

Top 10 ballparks to catch a foul ball
1. Comerica Park (Detroit Tigers)
The Tigers are not only arguably the best team in baseball, they have the best park in baseball to catch a foul ball.
The best spots to catch a foul ball are Sections 112, 113, 142, and 143.

2. Rate Field (Chicago White Sox)
You’ll likely see a trend developing here as the wide-open field of Rate field lends itself well to catching foul balls.
Sections 108 and 109 provide the best opportunity for you to snag the newest edition to your man cave.

3. Chase Field (Arizona Diamondbacks)
The Diamondbacks might be sellers at the deadline, but there’s still good reason for fans to come out to the ballpark. You have a very good chance to come away with a game-batted souvenir!
If you’re in Sections 109 and 135 you’re going to want to bring your glove.

4. loanDepot Park (Miami Marlins)
Though still more right-side dominant (54.35%), the Marlins feature one of the more balanced splits between right and left field for catching a foul ball.
Sections 1 and 2 are where you’ll want to be for the best shot at a foul ball.

5. Oriole Park at Camden Yards (Baltimore Orioles)
The great expectations for the Orioles hasn’t panned out (yet), but at least fans in attendance at Camden have a top-five chance to grab a foul ball in the Majors.
Try to grab seats in Sections 6 or 8 for the best shot.

6. Nationals Park (Washington Nationals)
The only park in the top 10 where there’s a larger chance to catch a foul ball from the left field side (59.3%).
Make your way to the left field corner of Sections 107 and 108 for the best chance.

7. Kauffman Stadium (Kansas City Royals)
The sheer size of the field of Kauffman Stadium more than makes up for the fact that the foul ball area in the outfield does seem relatively small compared to other parks.
The best sections to catch a foul ball are Sections 146 and 147.

8. Busch Stadium (St. Louis Cardinals)
The slight asymmetry between right and left field might be what contributing factor when it comes to the fact that two-thirds of foul balls that reach the outfield seats go to right.
Section 132 is your best bet to catch a foul ball at Busch Stadium.

9. Petco Park (San Diego Padres)
Despite the star-studded nature of the Padres’ right-handed-heavy lineup, 62.5% of foul balls get hit to the right side at Petco Park.
Section 125 is where you’ll want to be.

10. Dodger Stadium (Los Angeles Dodgers)
The iconic ballpark tucked within the Chavez Ravine is on just about every baseball fan’s bucket list parks to visit, and its top-10 ranking to catch a foul ball just seems like a nice cherry on top.
Get to Sections 46 or 48 for that unforgettable piece of memorabilia.

Methodology
To obtain the data for this piece, Sportsbook Review collected foul ball data from the 2025 season up to the start of July.
Since there was no specific data on foul balls reaching the stands, we chose to filter those foul balls that went toward the left or right side of the field and were classified as “fly balls.” This approach allowed us to pinpoint the approximate landing spots of these balls. The total number of foul balls per stadium doesn’t mean they all ended up in the stands, but it gives a clear sense of their trajectory toward the left or right.
We filtered this data by the location of each foul ball in each stadium, allowing us to classify a foul ball by stadium, determining which sections where foul balls are most likely to land.
The data was sourced from Baseball Savant, which also provides spray heat maps indicating the areas with the highest frequency of foul balls.
