 〽️ Michigan -16.5 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Fickell era in Madison has gone worse than anybody could have expected, with the Badgers sitting at 2-2 and coming off a 17-point loss at home to a Maryland team that was a 10-point underdog. This comes a year after the Badgers finished with a losing record for the first time since 2001. Fickell's seat is getting hotter, and his team is 10-17-2 ATS since the beginning of 2023.

So while winning by 17-plus points is a big ask for Michigan, the Wolverines are equipped to devour their fellow member of the Mustelidae family. With head coach Sherrone Moore back from his suspension and freshman five-star QB Bryce Underwood playing better and better each week, Michigan is poised to cover for the third straight game as a favorite.

The Wolverines are loaded in their front seven and bring a defense that ranks No. 17 in EPA per rush and No. 11 in early downs EPA per play - perfect for stopping Wisconsin offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes' run-first attack. If Underwood and Justice Haynes do their part on offense, Michigan should cover this spread and turn a $10 bet into a $9.09 profit.

💡 Wisconsin vs. Michigan odds analysis

Michigan opened as a 15.5 to 16.5-point favorite, with the line seeing minimal movement and most of our best college football betting sites offering the Wolverines between -16.5 and -17.5. With how large a spread that is, I don't expect it to move much more, but I could see it closing with Michigan favored by as many as 18.5 points by kickoff on Saturday. With the spread more likely to move toward the Wolverines, I'd bet Michigan now at -16.5, before the line surpasses the key number of 17.
