It’s a Big 12 clash tonight as we dive into our college football predictions for Week 6 with my West Virginia vs. BYU player props.

Our college football picks for this matchup lean into the weakness of West Virginia’s defense by targeting props for Bear Bachmeier and one of his top weapons, Chase Roberts.

Plus, we look to identify an edge on a touchdown scorer opportunity within the Mountaineer backfield.

The action for West Virginia vs. BYU kicks off tonight from LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, Utah, at 10:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). BYU is an 18.5-point betting favorite, and our Rob Paul has the Cougars covering the spread in his West Virginia vs. BYU prediction.

💰 Best West Virginia vs. BYU player prop bets

Our college football player prop odds tool shows the best odds for every market across legal sportsbooks in your area.

⬆️ Chase Roberts Over 4.5 receptions (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

West Virginia ranks 83rd in pass defense, allowing 246.5 yards per game through the air against FBS competition. If BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier has success through the air against this beatable secondary, one of the beneficiaries should be Chase Roberts, who has logged a pair of 80-plus-yard receiving outings in four games this season.

Roberts’ consistency in receptions volume, though, has been more consistent than his yardage totals. He has nabbed five catches in three straight games. With a receptions line of 4.5 at FanDuel (-114 on Over), we’ll go in that direction with this prop.

The implied probability of hitting the Over at those odds is 53.27%. A winning $10 bet on this prop would profit $8.77.

⬆️ Bear Bachmeier Over 37.5 rushing yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

West Virginia has allowed 178.0 rushing yards per game against FBS opponents, tied for 93rd in the nation in ground defense. Kansas’ Jalon Daniels rushed for 69 yards on just five attempts against WVU’s defense, demonstrating a potential weakness against mobile quarterbacks, in particular.

That’s a strength of Bear Bachmeier’s game, as the freshman showed in a 98-yard rushing output in BYU’s win over Colorado last week.

BetMGM offers the best line on this prop at 37.5 yards (-115 odds on Over). The implied probability at those odds is 53.49%. A winning $10 wager on this prop would profit $8.70.

🔥 Tye Edwards anytime TD scorer (+200) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

BYU has given up only four touchdowns on the season, and with an implied team total around 13.5 for this matchup, West Virginia isn’t projected to score many of them. But given that three of the four scores permitted by the Cougars have come on the ground, we’re targeting the Mountaineer backfield to find pay dirt.

Running back Tye Edwards erupted for three touchdowns against Pitt, his only game of the season to date. Listed as probable on the official injury report for Friday night’s game, it appears Edwards is nearing his return.

With backfield mate Jahiem White already ruled out for the contest, Edwards’ anytime TD scorer prop at +200 from bet365 seems like a strong value. The implied probability at those odds is 33.33%, and a winning $10 wager on this prop would profit $20.
