Tulane vs. UTSA Prediction & Odds: College Football Week 10 Betting Preview

I am banking on a big day from one of the nation’s leading rushers as part of my Tulane vs. UTSA prediction.

My Tulane vs. UTSA prediction backs the home underdogs, as I fear the visitors are in a tricky lookahead spot for a tilt against Memphis next week that could decide who plays for the American Conference championship. Thursday's kickoff from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN).

The Green Wave are a 3.5-point road betting favorite, but my college football Week 10 predictions back the Roadrunners, given how solid they have been at home. I also added a player prop wager on one of the nation’s most talented and explosive running backs.

🏈 Tulane vs. UTSA preview & score prediction

The Alamodome has hosted plenty of shootouts. The three games played there have all cashed the Over, averaging 73.7 points per game. But I am more intrigued by this relatively low point spread given that College Football Playoff contender Tulane has won three straight games, while UTSA is coming off a 38-point loss.

UTSA’s home dominance

UTSA has won 23 consecutive home games against conference opponents, and has covered each of the last seven such games.

Meanwhile, Tulane is coming off a unique prep for Army, a game it won by one touchdown at home. The small margin is uninspiring considering it faced a run-heavy Black Knights offense that had ranked outside the top 90 in Rush Explosiveness and Rush Success Rate.

UTSA was a similar four-point underdog as it was in this spot in its last game against North Texas, which it lost 55-17. But North Texas was motivated coming off its first loss, and the Roadrunners did not help themselves with three third-quarter fumbles that took a close halftime deficit and ballooned it to a four-touchdown margin.

I am backing the home underdogs at DraftKings, which is the only one of our best sports betting sites offering a line of +4 compared to +3.5. That extra half-point of value makes it worth paying up slightly for the -112 price at 52.83% odds, which would net $8.93 in profits on a $10 wager if UTSA covers.

✅ Score prediction: Tulane 31, UTSA 30

🆚 Key matchup to watch

Robert Henry vs. Tulane front seven

UTSA’s Robert Henry ranks third among all FBS running backs with 868 rushing yards.

Entering its last game, UTSA ranked second nationally in Rush EPA, and had run designed inside zone concepts more than any team in the country. Even in the 38-point loss to North Texas, the Roadrunners found tremendous success on the ground, running for 214 yards and 6.7 yards per carry.

Henry averaged 11.5 yards per carry on 12 attempts, and could have run for much more than the 138 yards had game script not forced a more pass-heavy attack.

Henry’s O/U for rushing yards at FanDuel is 111.5, juiced to -114 at 53.27% implied odds to the Over. That makes the plus-money price and 50% implied odds for Henry to rush for 110 yards at bet365 a steal. I am laying down my $10 wager at bet365 in the hopes of netting the same as my initial investment in profits.

✅ Best player prop bet:  Robert Henry 110+ rushing yards (+100 via bet365)
