A lot has changed since the last time these two programs played in September, and as a result, my Tulane vs. Ole Miss predictions are backing the Green Wave to put up a better fight in the College Football Playoff.
Ole Miss is a 17.5-point betting favorite for today's 3:30 p.m. ET (TNT/HBO Max/truTV) matchup from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss., in the third CFP game among the college football bowl games this week.

| Best bets | Odds | Confidence |
|---|---|---|
| Tulane +17.5 | -110 via bet365 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Dae'Quan Wright anytime TD | +184 via Caesars | ⭐⭐⭐ |
Tulane +17.5 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tulane is a different team than the one that lost to Ole Miss in September. Since then, the Green Wave's defense has gotten itself together, allowing 24 points or fewer in seven of its last nine games.
All Tulane needs to do is not get blown out, and with Jake Retzlaff's mobility as an X-factor, the Green Wave are No. 28 in offensive SP+. Meanwhile, this is Ole Miss's first game since Lane Kiffin left for LSU.
It's hard to imagine the Rebels won't deal with a few hiccups without Kiffin, especially when it comes to the offense.
Score prediction: Ole Miss 34, Tulane 20

Dae'Quan Wright, TE, Ole Miss: Anytime TD (+184) ⭐⭐⭐
With Kiffin gone, I really don't love the prices available at our best college football betting sites for Ole Miss's top scorers to find the end zone. QB Trinidad Chambliss is between -115 and -138, while Kewan Lacy is -480 to -600, and still between -110 to -130 to score twice.
Meanwhile, Tulane doesn't have a go-to player to bet on to score, outside of Retzlaff, but even he's just even money. Instead, my favorite TD play is backing Rebels tight end Dae'Quan Wright. He's among Ole Miss's most underrated players and will be a challenging cover for a Group of Six defense. Also, our Tulane vs. Ole Miss player props have his quarterback throwing plenty.
Wright is one of the best tight ends in the country after the catch, ranking No. 3 in YAC at his position (331), and his athleticism makes him a mismatch down the seam against a team that doesn't have a linebacker who can run with him.
While Wright has scored just four times this year, one of his most productive games came against Tulane. He finished with 71 yards and a TD the last time the Rebs played the Green Wave.
