After a roaring start to the season, we’ve got one last hurrah for our college football predictions for Week 1 with my TCU vs. North Carolina parlay picks and predictions.
What will happen in Bill Belichick’s return to coaching? Though TCU is a 3.5-point betting favorite as part of our college football picks, I like the Tar Heels to open the Belichick era with a bang.
Monday’s game kicks off at 8 p.m. ET (ESPN) at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C.

💰 Best TCU vs. North Carolina SGP bets
Here are my favorite TCU vs. North Carolina picks for Week 1 based on the best college football odds for the full parlay.
🚀 North Carolina +3.5 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
North Carolina was among the worst teams in FBS against the spread last season, going 2-10-1 ATS. But it hardly feels worth mentioning under the premise that Belichick can turn things around swiftly in Chapel Hill.
UNC had the ninth-ranked transfer class in FBS, according to 247Sports, and will have plenty of buzz in the building to root on this retooled roster. While TCU has the advantage in experience and continuity with Josh Hoover returning at quarterback, I like the Heels to keep it close. We’re playing the number, as a field-goal loss at home would cash this leg of the SGP.
🚀 Josh Hoover to throw an interception: Yes (-165) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Belichick’s hallmark of versatile defensive schemes should lead to opportunities for takeaways for the UNC defense this season. Monday, the Heels face a quarterback who is prone to giving up the football.
TCU quarterback Josh Hoover finished 2024 by throwing at least one interception in seven of his final 10 games of the season. I expect the redshirt junior to succumb to the environment at some point on Monday night in Chapel Hill, cashing this leg of the parlay with reasonable -165 odds from bet365 at the time of publication.
🚀 Davion Gause Over 65.5 rushing yards (-132) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
North Carolina RB Davion Gause is expected to take over lead rushing duties following the departure of Omarion Hampton to the NFL. Gause has some juice, as he actually outpaced Hampton in yards per carry last season, averaging 4.9 yards compared to Hampton’s 4.6.
TCU’s defense ranked 91st in the country against the run last season, allowing 168.9 rushing yards per game to its opponents. Though Gause could share the workload on Monday, his explosiveness against a unit that was soft against the run last season should allow for a productive night.

❓College football parlay betting FAQs
What is a parlay bet in college football?
A parlay combines multiple bets (spreads, totals, props, or moneylines) into one wager, with all selections needing to win for the bet to cash. Parlays are popular in college football betting because they offer bigger payouts.
How do college football parlay odds work?
Parlay odds are calculated by multiplying the odds of each individual selection, which increases both the potential payout and the risk. The more legs you add, the higher the reward but the lower the probability of winning.
Are parlays a smart betting strategy for college football?
Parlays can be fun for chasing large payouts but are harder to win consistently. Many sharp bettors prefer single-game wagers, but college football parlay bets can add excitement when used responsibly.
