Georgia Southern is 1-3 ATS against FBS programs this season, which includes failing to cover in all three games when it was an underdog. The Eagles' defense has been one of the worst in the country - No. 130 by SP+, No. 127 in EPA per pass, and No. 132 in EPA per rush - and is giving up the sixth-most points per game in the sport (37.4). Southern Miss's offense should be golden in this one.

Braxton has been among the best Group of Five quarterbacks this campaign, ranking No. 4 in TD passes among G5 QBs (11) and No. 3 in big-time throw rate (7.3%). With a laundry list of playmakers like Carl Chester, Tychaun Chapman, Elijah Metcalf, Micah Davis, and Bralon Brown, the Golden Eagles shouldn't struggle to fly past Georgia Southern with an offensive attack that's No. 77 in EPA per pass.

Southern Miss' defense matches up well against Georgia Southern QB JC French, too. With Moten leading the way, Huff's defense is No. 9 in the country in EPA per pass and paces the Sun Belt in interceptions (eight).

I was ready to back Braxton to go Over 238.5 passing yards for the third time in four games against this dreadful Georgia Southern defense. But then I saw Jeffery Pittman's odds for a TD, and it was like a record-scratch moment. Why is the Mississippi State transfer being priced at just -120 to score against one of the country's worst defenses?

My guess is that on paper, Pittman looks like he's splitting carries with Matt Jones, but it's clear which SEC transfer is Huff's lead back. Pittman turned 24 carries into 119 yards and four scores over the last two games when both he and Jones played (against Appalachian State and Jacksonville State). Jones totaled 11 carries for 58 yards and zero TDs in those contests.

Pittman is Southern Miss's RB1 and the more effective runner, with more rushing yards after contact (142), forced missed tackles (16), and 10-plus-yard runs (five) than Jones. If the redshirt junior scores his fifth TD in three games against a Georgia Southern defense that's allowed 16 rushing TDs in five outings, a $10 bet pays an $8.33 profit.
