Penn State vs. UCLA Prediction: College Football Week 6 Odds & Expert Picks

Last Updated: October 3, 2025 11:38 AM EDT • 3 minute read X Social Google News Link

My best Penn State vs. UCLA prediction anticipates a blowout at Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., as the Nittany Lions dominate the Bruins. Penn State is the 24.5-point betting favorite ahead of Saturday’s 3:30 p.m. ET (CBS) kickoff - that isn’t enough points.
UCLA's offensive woes and PSU's defensive dominance make Penn State covering the spread one of my safest college football picks of the week. And in a great matchup, backing Penn State running backs to excel is among my top college football predictions for Week 6.

🦁 Penn State -24.5 (-105) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Penn State suffered its first loss last week, but it defeated its first three opponents by a combined 115 points. Those games were against Villanova, FIU, and Nevada, and UCLA hasn't done anything to separate from those teams.
The Bruins are 0-4, and they’re averaging just 14.25 points per game. They played Northwestern tough on the road last week, but they’ve lost both of their home games by at least 25, including a 35-10 beatdown at the hands of New Mexico.
PSU is averaging 180.0 rushing yards per game, while UCLA allows 232.8. The Nittany Lions will likely dominate time of possession, and the Bruins will struggle to score against a defense that has allowed only one touchdown in its first three games.
The odds of -105 at Caesars suggest a 51.22% chance that Penn State will cover. A $10 bet would pay $9.52.

⬆️ Kaytron Allen Over 82.5 rushing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
If Penn State running back Kaytron Allen weren’t in a split backfield with Nicholas Singleton, this would be a five-star play. Allen has six fewer carries than Singleton this season, but he’s been more effective. He’s rushed for 327 yards and 7.1 yards per carry, while Singleton is averaging just 3.8 yards per attempt.
Allen has rushed for at least 86 yards in two games, and he proved he can run against anyone when he averaged 4.5 yards per carry against Oregon. In that same game, Singleton averaged just 1.9 yards.
Five running backs have topped this number against UCLA, including multiple running backs in two games. Allen and Singleton could both hit this total, but Allen’s done more with his carries, so he’s the safer play.
The price of -114 at FanDuel suggests a 53.27% chance he hits this Over. A $10 bet would pay $8.77.
