My best Ohio State vs. Michigan prediction focuses on the defensive strengths of both teams ahead of Saturday’s game at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Mich., at noon ET (FOX). No. 1 Ohio State is a 9.5-point betting favorite over No. 15 Michigan, but the Wolverines have won four consecutive games in this rivalry.

Can Ohio State finish its perfect regular season with a victory in The Game, or will Bryce Underwood and Michigan pull off the upset and potentially knock Ohio State out of the Big Ten Championship? My college football Week 14 predictions break it all down.

💵 Best Ohio State vs. Michigan bets

  • Game prediction: Michigan +9.5 (-102 via Caesars) ⭐⭐

  • Best prop bet: Bryce Underwood Under 154.5 passing yards (-114 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

🏈 Ohio State vs. Michigan preview & score prediction

Michigan has won four consecutive meetings with Ohio State, knocking off No. 2 Ohio State in Columbus last season when they were unranked. Ohio State should win this game, but Michigan has dominated this rivalry, so I’m avoiding the spread and instead backing Under 43.5 points.

Ohio State’s defense continues its dominance

Ohio State has yet to allow more than 16 points in a game, holding nine opponents to 10 or fewer points, while allowing an average of just 7.6 points per game.

While Michigan is averaging 29.2 points per game, the Wolverines have faced two ranked opponents this year, scoring just 13 points in each of those games.

Michigan is allowing just 17.9 points per game, so whether this Over hits will really come down to whether Julian Sayin and the Ohio State offense can overcome that. Ohio State has scored at least 34 points in all but two games this season, but the Buckeyes have played only one team currently ranked, and in that game, they managed just 14 points.

FanDuel’s price of -105 implies a 51.22% chance that this Under hits. A $10 bet would profit $9.52.

Score prediction: Ohio State 24, Michigan 17

🆚 Ohio State vs. Michigan matchup to watch

Bryce Underwood vs. Ohio State's secondary

Ohio State has the best pass defense in the nation, allowing just 126.6 yards per game. While Michigan is a run-first offense, averaging 223.5 rushing yards per game, Underwood’s arm has still been integral to Michigan’s offensive success, as he’s thrown for at least 200 yards in seven games.

However, Underwood has only faced one top-seven Big Ten pass defense. In that game, he threw for just 105 yards against Nebraska.

I don’t expect many points in this game, and with Ohio State also allowing just 80.0 rushing yards per game, I don’t expect Michigan to move the ball well at all. Even if Michigan gets down big early, Underwood won’t have much success in his toughest matchup of the year.

Best prop bet: Bryce Underwood Under 154.5 passing yards (-114 via FanDuel)
