💰 Best Ohio State vs. Illinois player prop picks

Our college football player prop odds tool shows the best odds for every market across legal sportsbooks in your area.

⬆️ Julian Sayin Over 260.5 passing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The line of 260.5 passing yards for Julian Sayin may seem steep, but the Illinois defense has shown us that quarterbacks can easily clear that kind of number against them. Purdue’s Ryan Browne and USC’s Jayden Maiava both cleared the 300-yard mark with ease over the last few weeks, and Indiana’s Fernando Mendoza managed 267 passing yards despite the Hoosiers racking up 312 yards on the ground.

Sayin is just that guy. He ranks second nationally in passing efficiency (197) and is averaging 262.6 passing yards per game – on a monstrous 10.4 yards per attempt. He should pop off against this Illinois defense that simply cannot stop the pass. The Illini rank 119th in passing yards allowed per game (276) and 87th in yards allowed per pass attempt (7.7).

Lock Sayin in for a passing yardage Over for -114 (53.3%) at FanDuel to score an $8.77 profit on a $10 bet. Our Rob Paul has an extra prop pick on Sayin with his Ohio State vs. Illinois prediction.

💡 College football expert picks: Week 7

⬇️ Luke Altmyer Under 215.5 passing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐

Illinois quarterback Luke Altmyer can keep the Illini in games against mid-tier opponents, but when tasked with facing the sport’s highest echelons, he wilts. Last year, Altmyer’s passing yardage output versus top-tier opponents was unimpressive: he played Oregon (161) and Penn State (185) and did little. The year before, he also started (and struggled) against Penn State (163).

He now takes on a No. 1 Ohio State team whose defense is impenetrable. The Buckeyes rank fourth in passing yards allowed per game (137.5) and eighth in yards allowed per pass attempt (5.5). It helps that head coach Ryan Day is using an intentionally slow-paced offensive scheme to minimize his players’ reps – the Buckeyes rank 136th nationally in seconds per play (32.4) by a 1.4-second margin.

Fade Altmyer by buying this Under for -114 at FanDuel.

⬇️ Bo Jackson Under 77.5 rushing yards (-114) ⭐⭐

Running back Bo Jackson has been excellent for the Buckeyes. He ran for 100-plus yards in Ohio State’s second and third contests on just nine carries in both games. Then, he added 80 yards on 17 carries at Washington. He only stayed under this line last week versus Minnesota with 63 yards on 13 carries.

I don’t have much faith in Illinois’ defense, so this pick largely comes down to volume. The Ohio State offense is built to milk the clock, limiting the total plays run per game. Despite running 55.8% of the time, Ohio State ranks 99th in rushing attempts per game (32). Head coach Ryan Day has probably seen enough from Bo Jackson to know he should conserve him.

Jackson could cash the Over with one big splash play, but I prefer betting on him to stay Under 77.5 rushing yards for -114 at FanDuel in hopes that Day looks to keep his star runner fresh for a more competitive opponent by limiting his already low usage.
