Despite Kyle Whittingham no longer set to coach in the Las Vegas Bowl after taking the Michigan job, my Nebraska vs. Utah predictions project the Utes to roll the Cornhuskers.
Utah is a 14-point betting favorite for today's 3:30 p.m. ET (ESPN) Las Vegas Bowl from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, and my college bowl game predictions don't have hype hopes for Nebraska without Emmett Johnson.
Stay ahead this bowl season with our updated college football bowl game odds and schedule.

Utah -14 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Though Whittingham is gone, and Utah will be without a pair of projected first-round offensive tackles (Spencer Fano, Caleb Lomu), Nebraska doesn't match up well here. Utah averages the most rushing yards per game in the P4 (269.8), and the Cornhuskers are No. 107 in EPA per rush on defense.
To make matters worse for Matt Rhule's team, second-string QB TJ Lateef won't have star running back Emmett Johnson to lean on, with him opting out.
That should help defensive coordinator-turned-head coach Morgan Scalley slow Nebraska with a defense ranked top 20 by SP+.
Score prediction: Utah 30, Nebraska 13

Devon Dampier, QB, Utah: 2+ TDs (+175) ⭐⭐⭐
Even without Fano and Lomu, Utah should have no problem running the ball with its diverse ground attack. And leading the charge is QB Devon Dampier, who's as good a point guard as he is a scorer for this offense.
Dampier is a rare mix of explosive and elusive at the QB position, ranking top 10 in 15-plus-yard runs (8) and forced missed tackles (27) among Power Four QBs this season.
His ability to rip off chunk runs and make defenders miss should expose a Nebraska defense that's allowed 26 rushing TDs in 12 games.
In the last two seasons, Dampier has found the end zone 26 times, including two multi-touchdown games in his last six outings.
💨 Bet on Utah's diverse run game to score
With Utah utilizing several different players in its run game, and each of them priced so short to score, the best TD bet for the Las Vegas Bowl might actually be an SGP. I love Dampier to score, but he's priced at -250 for just one tuddy, meanwhile running back Wayshawn Parker is sitting at -200.
Parker has scored nine times this season, and if you parlay both him and Dampier to find the end zone, you can get +110 odds at bet365.
