⬆️ Javon Tracy Over 32.5 receiving yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Two weeks ago, Minnesota receiver Javon Tracy didn’t catch a single pass in a 42-3 loss to top-ranked Ohio State (despite playing 38 of 51 snaps). That halted his 17-game streak with at least one reception and a 10-game streak with at least 34 receiving yards. Of course, the Buckeyes currently boast the seventh-stingiest pass defense in FBS. Six spots ahead of Ohio State at No. 1: Nebraska.
So why bet on Tracy this week? Because the Cornhuskers’ defense didn’t face a legit passing attack until last week at Maryland. Result: Nebraska surrendered 249 air yards, with four Terps topping 32 receiving yards. Tracy, who rebounded with 49 yards on just four catches last week against Purdue, will do the same Friday.
Bet this Nebraska vs. Minnesota prop at FanDuel. The -114 odds carry a 53.27% implied win probability, with a $10 bet potentially returning $8.77.
⬆️ Dylan Raiola Over 245.5 passing yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐
The downside to this Nebraska vs. Minnesota player prop: Cornhuskers quarterback Dylan Raiola has eclipsed 245 passing yards just seven times in 19 career starts. The upside? Raiola has done it against three of the five FBS opponents he’s faced this season — Akron (364 yards), Michigan (308) and Maryland (260 last week). He also came close in the opener against Cincinnati (243 yards).
More upside on this play: Minnesota’s secondary has gotten torched three times in its last four games, with two quarterbacks — Cal’s Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele (279 yards) and Ohio State’s Julian Sayin (326 yards) — blowing past this projection. Finally, despite the fact we’re a month into autumn, Saturday’s weather conditions in Minneapolis will be ideal for slinging the pigskin.
So lay the -115 odds on this prop at Caesars. The implied win probability is 53.49%, and a winning $10 bet will pay $8.70.
⬆️ Emmett Johnson Over 96.5 rushing yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐
Leading rushers against Minnesota the past three weeks: Purdue’s Devin Mockobee (98 yards); Ohio State’s Bo Jackson and James Peoples (63 and 59 yards, respectively, on a combined 20 carries); and Rutgers’ Antwan Raymond (161 yards). Now here comes Nebraska’s Emmett Johnson, who entered this week as the nation’s ninth-leading rusher with 650 yards (90 more than the talented Raymond).
Admittedly, it might seem counterintuitive to bet the Over on rushing and passing yardage props involving two teammates. But I don’t see how the Gophers slow down Johnson, who is coming off a career-best 176-yard effort at Maryland. In fact, three of the senior’s top-four career rushing performances have come this season (he had 108 against Cincinnati and 140 versus Akron).
BetMGM has the optimal number on this Nebraska vs. Minnesota player prop. The -115 price implies a 53.49% win probability. Wager $10 to win $8.70.
