🔮 Texas Tech vs. Utah early prediction: Utah -3.5
Although both of these programs have played like potential CFP teams, Utah's defense looks like it could be the difference. The Red Raiders rank outside the top 35 in SP+ on defense, while Utah is in the top 15. Utes QB Devon Dampier and Jason Beck's scheme should overwhelm a Texas Tech team that hasn't had to deal with a dynamic passer yet. This game being in Salt Lake City helps, too.

🔮 Auburn vs. Oklahoma early prediction: Oklahoma -4.5
Jackson Arnold has gotten off to a solid start for Auburn, but returning to Norman to take on Oklahoma is a lot bigger than beating Baylor. The Sooners have a defense ranked in the top 15 in SP+ and an offense led by a Heisman contender in John Mateer. And for as talented as the Tigers are, their offense relies so heavily on Arnold as a runner, with his passing ability still being an issue.

🔮 Michigan vs. Nebraska early prediction: Nebraska +3.5
A duel between former five-star QBs, Dylan Raiola and Bryce Underwood, that will likely be more about the top-ranked defenses taking the field. For as strong as Underwood looked last week, he didn't look ready to win a road game two weeks ago against Oklahoma. While the Cornhuskers' defense isn't quite as strong as the Sooners', it still ranks in the top 20 in SP+. This should be a close defensive game.

🔮 Illinois vs. Indiana early prediction: Indiana -2.5
These are two fairly evenly matched programs, with both ranking in the top 20 in SP+. I'm backing the Hoosiers to cover thanks to their home-field advantage and their stellar QB play. Transfer Fernando Mendoza has been one of the best passers in the country (79.5 QBR) and should outduel Luke Altmyer in a game that I don't suspect will be full of points.
