College Football Predictions & Odds Week 7: Best NCAAF Bets Today

⬇️ Under 51 (-102)

Ohio State lost several key defensive starters to the NFL and defensive coordinator Jim Knowles to Penn State, and yet, this defense is just as good. That's a credit to the Buckeyes' recruiting and development, and Patricia's play-calling. Led by the best linebacker duo in the nation, Arvell Reese and Sonny Styles, and All-American safety Caleb Downs, the Buckeyes are No. 1 in SP+ on defense and allowing the fewest points per game in the nation (5.0).- via my Ohio State vs. Illinois prediction

🐘 Alabama -3.5 (-110)

Though Missouri has been one of the most slept on teams in the country this season, the Tigers are catching Alabama at a tough time. Crimson Tide QB Ty Simpson has been one of the best QBs in the nation, and running back Jam Miller is finally healthy - they have Alabama ranked No. 14 in SP+. Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide's defense has awoken in its last two top 25 matchups and now ranks top 10 in SP+. Alabama has the talent to pull away late.

🐾 Pittsburgh +10.5 (-110)

Freshman Mason Heintschel will make his second start for Pittsburgh after throwing for 323 yards and four touchdowns against Boston College. Heintschel and the Panthers’ pass-first offense, averaging 307 yards per game, will keep this close against a spiraling Florida State team.

🦆 Oregon -7.5 (-104)

Indiana is averaging 47.8 points, but it had just 10 against Iowa with 10 minutes remaining. I expect struggles to continue against a defense that allowed just four touchdowns in the first 19 quarters of the season.- via Phil Wood's Indiana vs. Oregon prediction

🅾️ Oklahoma ML (-108)

This matchup does not set up well for Manning and Co. - Oklahoma has the best pass defense in the country. The Sooners allow the second-fewest passing yards per game in college football (118.4), rank No. 1 in EPA per pass on defense, and lead the Power Four in sacks (21). Meanwhile, Manning has Texas sitting at No. 109 in EPA per pass on offense, with the 16th-lowest adjusted completion rate in the country (69%) and the fifth-highest turnover-worthy play rate nationally (6.7%).

🦬 Colorado +2.5 (-105)

This matchup does not set up well for Manning and Co. - Oklahoma has the best pass defense in the country. The Fighting Irish are averaging 178.6 rushing yards per game. While they’re about to face a defense allowing just 131.8 rush yards per game, NC State did allow 174 rushing yards to Virginia Tech’s Terion Stewart two weeks ago. Both of these teams have been involved in high-scoring games, but both defenses have clamped down of late. Notre Dame hasn’t allowed more than 13 points in either of its last two games, and NC State has held back-to-back opponents to 23 or less.

🤠 Aggies -7.5 (-102)

Reed’s development has taken the offense to new heights, as he has 200 or more passing yards in every game this season after averaging 169.5 passing yards per game a season ago. But Texas A&M also showed its versatility last week, pulling away for a comfortable 22-point victory and cover as a 17.5-point favorite, despite Reed going 2-for-8 for 20 yards in the first quarter (his lowest yardage total in any quarter this season).

🗡️ USC ML (-135)

USC’s quarterback advantage, magnified by its home-field advantage, is the primary reason for this bet. Underwood has gone into hostile territory and struggled mightily through the air. Conversely, Maiava is better at home for his career (156.3 to 150.2) and with USC this year (234.9 to 149.1). It’ll be hard for Michigan to stop head coach Lincoln Riley’s incredibly efficient passing attack, and it’ll be even harder for the team’s offense to keep up.- via Isaiah Sirois' Michigan vs. USC prediction

Texas Tech has scored at least 34 points in every game this season, including two games with 60 or more points. … Kansas enters this game averaging 35 points per contest. While the defense has been inconsistent, the offense has scored at least 27 points in all six games and topped 30 points five times.

🐓 South Carolina +9 (-110)

Taking South Carolina’s moneyline of +275 at BetMGM is a solid play, but taking South Carolina to cover 9 for -110 at Caesars is possibly the best play of the weekend. In three games against power conference teams, LSU has won just one game by more than nine. That came by defeating Florida 20-10, a game in which the defense forced five turnovers.

🔴 Utah -7.5 (-115)

The rightful favorite in this matchup is the unranked team against the ranked squad, as Utah is in the top 20 nationally in both scoring offense and defense.
