Big Ten Predictions, Odds & Best Bets Week 6
Six top-25 Big Ten teams are in action in Week 6, providing us with some nice betting options.
I’m looking at three different conference matchups when making my best Big Ten predictions for Week 6.
Since naming Alex Orji the starting quarterback, the Michigan Wolverines are 2-0, with both of their wins coming by a final score of 27-24. Should they be road underdogs this week against the Washington Huskies?
Meanwhile, the USC Trojans and their high-powered offense travel to take on Minnesota. The Golden Gophers very nearly pulled off a miraculous comeback victory over Michigan last week, while the Trojans have scored at least 27 points in three games this season. What’s the play on the total in that game?
And finally, the Ohio State Buckeyes take on the Iowa Hawkeyes and their vaunted defense. The Hawkeyes have allowed at least 14 points in three of their four games this season. What does that mean for Will Howard and the Buckeyes’ offense?
We have plenty more betting content on tap for this weekend with our college football Week 6 predictions, including our look at another conference with our SEC predictions.

Michigan (+100) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Wolverines haven’t played a pretty brand of football this season, but they’re getting the job done. Alex Orji has thrown for just 118 yards in his two starts, but he’s also only turned the ball over once. The Wolverines have relied on their rushing attack to have success, and it’s worked thus far.
The Huskies are only favored because they’re the home team. They’ve already lost to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and Washington State Cougars, and despite their fantastic offensive numbers, they’re actually not scoring all that much against good defenses.
Huskies quarterback Will Rogers has yet to throw an interception this season. That will change this weekend, as the Wolverines’ defense proves to be too much for him. Michigan is averaging one interception per game after all.
Orji will throw for less than 100 yards again, but the Wolverines will execute their game plan, run the ball effectively, and leave with a narrow win.
Best odds: +100 via BetMGM | Implied probability: 50.00%
USC vs. Minnesota Over 49 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Last week, the Trojans allowed 21 first-half points then shut out the Wisconsin Badgers over the final 30 minutes. The defense has yet to allow more than 27 points in a game this season, a massive improvement over last year.
Though the Golden Gophers won’t be the first team to score more than 27 against the Trojans, they will score at least two touchdowns, as they have done in every game this season. After all, the Trojans have allowed at least 20 in three of their four games.
The Golden Gophers’ defense isn’t very good this season, allowing at least 27 points to each of their Big Ten opponents thus far.
The Trojans are going to score more than 30 in this game. The total has been rising, so get in as soon as possible. At the moment, only DraftKings has the number lower than 49.5.
Best odds: -110 via DraftKings | Implied probability: 52.38%
Will Howard Over 1.5 passing touchdowns (-130) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Howard has thrown at least two touchdown passes in three of his four games this season. Even with those numbers, this price against the Hawkeyes generally wouldn’t provide much value. However, this is a different Iowa defense this year.
The Hawkeyes have allowed two opponents to score 20 or more points against them this season, and they’ve allowed at least 14 points to every FBS team they’ve faced. The Buckeyes are going to dominate this game, and Howard will continue to do what he’s done all season: throw touchdowns.
The price for this prop is -130 or worse at all of our best sports betting sites. It’s unlikely the price increases because of how good bettors think the Hawkeyes’ defense is, but you should still get in as soon as possible.
Best odds: -130 via BetMGM | Implied probability: 56.52%
